Subject: Current boxed set for 40k?

Infiltrating Broodlord

Hi all,
I've been a bit out of the loop on the whole transition into 7th. I thought the 7th box included dark angels and orks and was sold out. Wasn't the chaos/dark angels one I see on GW's website the one from 6th? I don't care all that much about the models... Just the templates, reference sheet, and THE RULE BOOK primarily.
Thank you!

The one you are thinking of is Stormclaw which had Space Wolves and Orks. The Dark Vengeance kit It is the same box from 6th except they added an Aspiring Champion to the Chaos side and the mini rulebook is the 7th version of the rules.

6th had dark vengeance which was DA vs CS 7th has a repack of the same with DA vs CS but with a new box art IIRC and a 7th book There is also Storm claw which is limited or something that has Orks and SW and also comes with a 7th booklet. You could also ewwbay it and call it a day. Edit: Damn you 1 min ninja!

Also worth noting, although it seems to have flown under the radar for many, that the same leak that mentioned the new Nid also mentioned a new mini hardback book, and if you don't want any of the minis for either faction, that plus a template set (which go for pennies on eBay, almost literally) may be more economic.
Worth noting that while many of the models in the DV box are pretty, the units themselves are pretty horribly equipped in many instances (the Chosen especially) for long term gaming.

Ah, I was wondering if it was just a repack. Thank you for the help! I would ebay it, but the lowest price I could find is $50!
I'm looking to pay ~$25, that's why I was asking about the set since I have some friends who might want to buy both the chaos and emo marines.

It was the Space Wolves/Orks limited addition box set for the upcoming Rule Book Release. But now they update the CSM/Dark Angels box set to 7th edition. So the stuff you want is in Dark Vengeance box set.

A new mini hardback rulebook?
I hope it is cheap and gets followed up with cheap codexes too.
Then I would get back into 40K.

New DV has 7th mini (softcover) rulebook, and an extra model (a chaos hero). It also has templates and measuring stick, which stormclaw does not.
However, stormclaw has full mpp sprues with full options, and dv has snapfit specials. It comes with the same mini rulebook, which, by the way, has tiny print. The models in Stormclaw are much, much better than the ones in Dark Vengeance, so long as you want proper MPP pieces (choose what head, weapons, torso, etc.). DV is meant as a starter set, and although the casts are quite worthy, you're kinda screwed unless you want exactly the configuration provided (for example, the sergeant is stuck with a chainsword).
The only way you'll be able to play 40k for $25 is to buy lunch for someone who is going to quit
