This has been bugging me for days now. There is a word (or phrase) for a decision or action which is taken without consulting the people it affects. So when they are informed it's too late to do anything about it. But I can't remember what the word is.

I've tried all manner of googling and reverse dictionary searching, but it's a difficult concept to convey to a search engine. So I thought I'd ask people instead. It might be Latin, but I honestly can't remember.

I know it as a song by Curve.

I first heard it back in the 80s, though.
synonyms for "done deal".

It's usually only used in the context of something irreversible or performed without going through standard procedure.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
