So, some brief rules and an intro.

I'm thinking of picking up an IK and wondering what the paint colour should be.

I absolutely hate most of the GW ones, (Especially Terryn and the Admech ones) and was hoping if the fine folk here could help me out!

It could be a minor house or a Freeblade, either or.

Here's the rules:

No largley green colours, I don't want it to blend in with my DA
No Admech-type ones, the scheme is bland and quite frankly dull to me
Gold/Brass edge plating is apprecciated
Not too many blacks/greys

OtoH, if you don't like reds and greens, not too much black, but maybe your DA could be standing close to the painted model, how about yellow ( or brownish colors ) ?

I'm thinking a really dark blue/purple scheme for a minor house of my makng. House Drakoff?

Naggaroth night base, and a sycorax bronze trim with riekland wash

This is not a canon color scheme that I know of, but black with gold trim and a fair amount armor wear could look quite impressive.

EDIT: Oops sorry missed the part about not too much black or grey, in that case a blue/red pattern knight with brass trim could come out nice

See, blue with gold trim is similar to Terryn. Thinking a group of freeblades known as the Oath And Bond, whoch allows me to paint more than one knight, but keep them all freeblades. Thinking really dark navy/ rediculously dark purple with a gold trim.
