I'm trying to decide between the aforementioned options, payday is comin so need to figure it out fast.

I'll go over some of the pros and cons for each, according to my favoured CT, Iron Hands and then we can open the topic up for discussion!
Also I want to keep these units cheap-ish so just Las on the Devs and las all around on the pred.

Dev Cents $94
Pros-
FNP for everyone and IWND on the sarge
T5 durability
Small profile, better cover
3 TL las shots, plus anti infantry power
Upgradeable squad size and toys

Cons-
Expensive, points and cash
Diminishing firepower when wounded
Susceptible to pie plates
Easy to CC

Predator $65
Pros-
Solid firepower
Great AV
IWND
Techmarines can fix it
Cheap

Cons-
Hard to get cover
Easy to kill from sides and rear
Dies in CC
Not very versatile

So that is what I was thinking on the matter, what do you figure? Is there something I missed?
The way I see it, the Cents actually make more use of the CT and they all around seem
more durable. The Predator comes ahead in the cost department, being a full hundred points
and $30 cheaper, but really when I crunch it down that's all the Pred has over Las Cents....

What do you think?

The other option is to say screw it and buy 2 drop pods. I am getting teased about forcing my marines to footslog everywhere...

Depends how many points you got to spend.

Cents are WAAAYYYY more versatile. With some magnets you can make them ready for any fight. With an omniscope the sarge can have different gear and engage targets hes better suited for. Take grav and missles on grunts and give sarge las or hurricane bolters and hvy bolters if your afraid of being tar pitted.

The predator cant compete. Of course its much cheaper.

Hell, grav/ml or grav/bolters, even on the sergeant, is good. The sergeant can delete a combat squad of marines a turn, while the others shoot something else. Like another combat squad, or a large unit of something.

Yeah Cents are gonna do you way better. You can build a list specifically around 3 Cents. Not so with a Pred.

Tanks need friends. Without armor saturation, a single pred is just a target. But if you field a bunch of armor (dreads, preds, rhinos, razors, LRs, etc) then you have more threats then your opponent can drop easily. Then your mechanized list is going to start to shine.

But if your list is primarily footslogging, the cents should fit in easier.
