I'm have an imperial fist army (still primer), and I am building a raven guard army. I want to use the same Rhinos/Razorbacks/LR for them, and they already have magnetized doors/weapons, but I am trying to figure out how to paint/model them so they can be modular for each army before play. So far all I've come up with is using a black/grey highlighted paint scheme, with chapter specific paint on the doors/hatches/turrets which can be swapped depending on the chapter. I wanted to throw it out there to see if anyone had done anything like this and how it came out~~~

Thanks in advance

Paint them camo (or metallic or black) and drill a little hole that you can push a flag into. Make a different, decent sized banner for each chapter, and presto

Camo seems to be the best option. If you already have the doors and such magnetized, that would be the place to put any iconography you need. Or just leave them blank.

When I picked up my scouts way back when I still had two viable marine armies (BA and Ultramarines) I did them up in a camo pattern with no chapter markings, so I could field them with both forces. I justified it with them not haveing earned the right to wear the chapter symbols yet, as well as their job was to gather intel, not give it out.

As a more heraldry type solution, what about doing a half and half or a quartered scheme with the base colours of both chapters. You can easily add in background fir the armies about some heroic endeavour that has led to the split scheme, and it doesn't need to be based on cooperation between the chapters.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

Honestly, I think you should just make your own chapter, and use with you like from both armies to create a new one. Like what Flinty said, combine the color scheme and just combine the insignias as well, and call them Imperial Ravens, or something using the two names in it.

One of the nice things about this game, can do what you want with it, and make it your own.
