How much should it cost to be able to make a hive tyrant have a 2+

I was thinking 25pts for the 2+

Does this sound fair?
I want to make a hive tyrant walk again.

It doesn't matter if it has a 2+, there's so much AP 1 and 2 in the game it might live half a turn longer. What they need is access to an invulnerable save of some sort.

I will happily enlighten everyone with my nom-nom-nom ways.

A ++ save only comes up so rarely. Cover is usually more than enough. And nids have many many cover producing units. And with the rise of pods, welcome to the drop hive.

Where I will lay down the biomass. Its like base, but way more hungry.

However, more on point. Is that a fair price?

Tough Tyrant Guard

UK

It was priced at 40 points in the 5th Ed book, but most upgrades were a little over-costed at the time. Wings dropped to 35 points, so if Armoured Shell were to come back then 35 points sounds reasonable.

As above, it would need to be mutually exclusive with the Wings biomorph, but it would certainly make walking Hive Tyrants a lot more viable in principle. Yes there are plenty of AP2/AP1 weapons out there, but the difference between a 3+ and a 2+ versus volume of fire (and even more so in assault these days) is huge.

Armoured Shell would make a medium strength deathstar unit of three Guard and a melee Tyrant a lot more attractive, and it's a real shame that there is no option for this at the moment. Hopefully the upcoming Leviathan book will fix this...

It simply would be amazing. I think 35pts is a bit much for a 2+ though. Especially because wings would confer so much more for the same exact cost.

It's the problem with wings mostly. They should be more expensive for a monstrous creature in the first place.

As for 2+ armor, i think that 30-35 pts is reasonable. Makes your t6 guy double hard to deal with for non ap2 weapons. While he's rocking a decent cover save from venomtrophes either. It doesn't protect you from mellee monster hunters but for 30-35 pts it shouldn't.
