Hey! Me again proposing a new "command" for the guard.

At the start of every game the commander can pick a single battle song to apply to every infantry unit in codex.

I have only come up with one.

"Pack up your troubles" Whilst singing this rousing song guardsmen can sometimes feel invincible, too many casualties however will make them quickly lose that idea.
What it does:
Squads can now take up to 50% casualties before having to take a morale check, when this is done "pack up your troubles" has no effect on that squad.

Here's the rules:

Make your own up! I'd love advice as well
Oh, and they have to be named after all war song (WWI/WWII) ( if you can't think of a name then put the idea and i'll see if I can name it)

Meh, that's OK! I quite liking editing and customizing stuff. Post it up and I'll make it fit a more generic theme

Haha, awesome!

'It's a long long way to Tiperarie': All Guard units may add one to their run distance so long as the run takes them closer to the enemy board edge.

Ok,

"Long way to cadia" Eager to finish all of this and get home, the guardsmen sprint towards their foe

With this song all guard units are allowed to roll three dice and discard the highest, if they are moving towards an enemy squad.

I'll translate the first 3 verses myself and i've allrady found the last 4 done rather nicely:
Spoiler:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xBcpNw1CvIM

Tanks are rumbling cross the field
And soldiers march to final fight
While young commander is being carried
With broken head and dead outright

The tank was hit with heavy shell
Farewell my dear fellow crew
Four dead bodies near wreckage
Will add to early morning view

And the machine is now on flames
The ammo will soon detonate
And i just want so much to live
But don't have strength to open hatch

They'll lift us from beneath the wreckage
Remove our bodies from the fray
While fire and thunder from the cannons
Escort us on our final way

And telegrams will set a-flying
To notify our next of kin:
Your son will never be returning
On leave he won't be stopping in

His mother wails in the corner
His father swats a creeping tear
His love will never know for certain
What fate befell her tanker dear

A photo on her shelf will linger
Among the yellowed books forlorn
In tanker's garment, epaulets on
And fiancé to her no more.

If it adds something other than sorrow, it definitely should apply to tank crews.

The Tanks Are Rumbling Cross The Field:
Can be issued to a tank squadron at the start of the game. When a tank from this squadron becomes a wreck as a result of enemy actions (shooting, mellee, psychic powers, etc, but not when it looses it's last HP when immobilized on DT or when your own shots scatter on top of it), infantry models within 6' get Preferred Enemy.

Sailor's Shanty: the unit sings a jaunty tune about lasses and wenches, booty and of course the harsh mistress, the sea.

Effect, got yer sea legs yet laddy? This unit treats all dangerous terrain as difficult and difficult terrain as if it were open ground. Or could just give the Move through Cover USR for the turn. But that's not near as much fun.

I could also see Battle Hymn of the Republic being pretty popular what with the God smiting and all that. Not sure what it's effect would be though. Probably just a morale thing?

If anyone wants to add any WWI tunes would could get an "Over the Top, boys!" bayonet charge esque tune that gives the unit rerolls or a bonus attack. Or to receive the charge and gain the counter attack special rule until your next turn.

I think all these necessitate the addition of musicians to units, so I can model up dudes in kilts playing the bagpipes or some conscript drummer and fife players.

If they added in musicians i would be over the moon. No really. I'd love a guy screaming along with a pistol/sword and trumpet.

It's easy to get them in already, should you want to? Just use them as Vox operators!

Musicians would also make great standard bearers. I've got the Gaunt's Ghost model of the guy playing the bagpipes.

There's also a song about pilots that comes to my mind. But it's written after the war so i guess it wouldn't fit.

Maybe there's some japanese song about kamikaze? It'd be awesome to apply something like: "You can intentionally crash the flyer. BS matters when the flier crashes and burns intentionally."

I actually laughed out loud when I heard this. This is insanely funny.
