Hi everyone,
I hate the way GW have posed the new Archon model. I think it looks ridiculous, and so far it's put me off buying the model. That being said, I've seen a few conversions (in White Dwarf) for example, which suggest that the new model is quite flexible and can look great in other poses.
So, I'd like to see what people have been able to achieve with the model. It's been out for a few weeks now - so some of you must have done something with it by now!

You might want to ask a MOD to move this to the modeling form. You'll likely get more attention/response there.
That being said, I don't know how many people would have bought the new archon, given the archon's purported drop in effectiveness.
Most existing DE players will have the older archons, and likely not upgraded - I have three archons already (3rd ed male, 3rd ed female, and 5th/6th male).
It does look like the new archon matches well with all the DE plastics, so you could chop him up to make some really unique models.

I have more Archon models then i will ever need, the Dark Eldar range is astonishingly easy to convert and since an Archon is simply a wealthy Dark Eldar it's not all that hard to make one out of your bitz box. My latest Succubus was made from spare Scourge Legs, a Wych suit and a Wood Elf head carrying the Hellion agoniser and the Scourge Knife, she can be seen springing (Scourge legs convey a whole lot of movement) from the front of the Grotesques that give her majority T5
I have a Duke model made from Dark Elf Corsair bits, but i guess he is nothing more then an Archon now. Heck, even Vect himself is no nothing more then a lowly Archon :( The thing about the new model is the legs are atrocious, the body is non-unique and the helmet is optional. All you are getting is a Cloak of flayed skin for your money. So i'd suggest you make your own.

I didn't see the need for the new model, the 5th/6th ed one was really nice and fitted with the current kits. It's a step up from the awful 3rd ed one though I suppose
The pose on the new one is ridiculous. It's the crossed arms that really annoy me with it, not really menacing. It's such a static model, which doesn't really tie in with the rest of army.
Have you got a link to any pictures of conversions?
