I really like those Blitzers! They sure look suitably beefy and armoured for the role, and you're definitely on the right way painting-wise! A couple of small suggestions, if I may:
- you may want to be a bit more restrained when it comes to adding washes to the models: This may be partly due to the photos, but I think the colours could be slightly more vibrant.
- just a tip for the coming models: Armour is a great way to differentiate the different types of players from one another, but using more dynamic poses also works really well! And using the various Orky kits in order to come up with suitably dynamic and silly models is a lot of fun, too!
- you were probably going to work on the bases anyway, but that's definitely the one area of the models that still needs attention! Allow me to share my quick recipe for Blood Bowl bases:
1.) Mix PVA glue, modeling sand and small pieces of cork, using a leftover piece of sprue. You want to make a thick paste with quite a bit of texture.
2.) Add the paste to the bases and make sure it's well distributed. Oh, and if you want to glue your models to the bases in a dynamic or more interesting way, you may want to make sure to add a piece of sprue to serve as a suitable point of attachment!
3.) Apply a black undercoat.
4.) Paint the base in brown (Scorched Brown or Vallejo's Charred Brown are great for this)
5.) Wash the entire base with Agrax Earthshade or a similar wash.
6.) Drybrush the base with different, lighter shades of brown and beige. Graveyard Earth is great for this. And if you use Bleached Bone as your final (light) drybrush, you should get quite a bit of contrast.
This will give you bases that look like a muddy mess -- just what a BB playing field should be like, right? If you want, you can now add bigger or smaller patches of static grass on top.
Hope this helps! Keep up the great work!
