Subject: GW Video Painting Tutorial (Aka the Duncan Rhodes fanclub) (HEAVY!)
This company do lots of not so great things when it come to most areas, in short they are mostly a--holes...
BUT I am a firm believer in that credit where credit is due and since they started this guy doing painting tutorials I am almost considering to buy GW paints again just to follow along, they are that good.
My thought is to post all of the here for your convenience, starting from the beginning and up to all the new ones. Feel free to discuss them as well.
Now starting with the first series, they are part demo part promo but still they are worth the watch and they are his first painting oriented videos
Spoiler:
More to come!
Automatically Appended Next Post: Next up is a series on Imperial Knights, in four parts, from building to finished paint job.

I too enjoy these painting guides and showcases for new paints. The new End Times painting vids are great. I think you consolidating them is a great idea.
Agreed, the company has been run in a very peculiar way the last say 10 years... the prices have risen to redonkulous levels (I am lucky I have a well paid job)... BUT the last 2 years I have seen a glimmer of hope... very nice sculpts, new fresh artwork, a higher release tempo and alot of other nice things... I hope that GW are not lost, I hope they find their way... cause I happen to love their product.
With that said... time for the next set of videos

Those tutorials are good and easy to do but in my opinion there are better and simplier ways to achieve what he does.
But great marketing for the color range. I still prefere Vallejo tho.

These videos convinced me to start an Imperial guard army. Been following his guides for all of my IG minis. I'm gonna pick up some Militarum Tempestus Scions next month. It really is as simple as it looks in his videos. All of my models look spectacular.

I found out about those videos quite recently and I was very impressed with his Nagash tutorial. The videos are really quite exceptional and I like watching them AND I have been learning some cool stuff to boot, like the way he blended Nagash's ghosts with the clothing.

I really love watching these painting tutorials, watching how some of these paints are used (sch as the technical) or even just when they were showing how to blend on the large undead Nagash model. It almost feels like a try before you buy sometimes.
Credit is due where credit is due and these tutorials are really good, plenty of great techniques are shown and for a noobie they are an excellent place to start that is in a comfortable familiar seeming environment for them on youtube.
Although sometimes it seems like they use one too many colours to try and sell that extra pot to those wanting to copy the scheme, but that is more just picky than anything else.
I actually cant wait for more... Just don't let anyone hear me say that too loudly
But yeah, they are good videos, especially for new painters to get a grasp of the basics but still produce nice looking models and even to give vets some ideas on how to approach things for simple but effective schemes.

By the way, I *highly* recommend the How to Paint Citadel Miniatures DVD (comes with the book with the same title), also starring Duncan. It is by far the best introductory video on the market, and far superior to the Privateer Press Core Techniques Vol 1.
Plus, at about the same price as a codex, it is much, much better value hahaha

is anyone here good enough with paint / photo editors to make a picture for the signature block for the duncan rhodes fan club? I'm thinking we can start something here.
It would be great if they put out a video on how to paint the basic infantry for each race. Tau, Necrons, etc. It's nice that there's stuff like Ork skin tutorials, but some more full length start-to-finish stuff would be much appreciated.
Either way though, I'm really glad they're doing these tutorials.
