I jsut got an e-mail from GW titled : "Whether you have been good or bad, we have a gift for you"

It says that orders over 500 PLN, which is c.a 170 USD, get a free package:





The package seems like it's phat loot, unless it's false advertising.

Unless, having read it carefully, it's just THE BOX. If so, it's just worth a lol.

Yeah, from my reading of the email this morning, the promotion is just literally a decorated delivery box. I had to read it twice to be sure, because it seemed too ludicrous to be true.

If it was £10 to get a box then I don't think as many people would be complaining. But it's not £10, it's £100. £100 Gets you a box. Wow, someone help me take off my boxers, because I'm so wet they're stuck to my skin.

If it was an army box, with some foam inserts and the likes, then that'd be awesome, but no, it's. Just. A. Box. It's like saying "if you spend £30,000 on this new car, we'll throw in a pair of fuzzy dice worth a whopping £0.50 free of charge!". There's no point trying to round up a purchase to £100 if all you're going to get in return is a box.

I wasn't expecting much but that is just pathetic. And not even in a funny way

Yeah, I have one. It's green with yellow writing. Quite cool if you're getting loads of stuff anyway. I'm not much of a fan of this one.

Personally, I see nothing upsetting or insulting about this. I doubt people will be ordering 100 quid worth of stuff just to get the box, but if you're gonna order 100 quid worth of stuff anyway, the box is a pretty nice touch.

Just when I thought GW couldn't get more asinine...

So it's only as free as the P&P, which at £100 is usually free from most places anyway?

I'm surprised that no one is going ape Please don't bypass the language filter like this. Reds8n crazy over the coffee mug in a tin can that GW is selling for only $17. Actually, I'm not. Even though it comes in 4 different colors and contains a 'bitz box' that has can't have internal dividers of any sort... or else the coffee mug wouldn't fit. And the mugs are only for their paint line? Really? I'd buy this if the mug and tin had matching ork or necron art. Who wants a much that just says, "Citadel... Macragge Blue" on it?

Eh, I'm not all that fussed about it. I do think the box is a lousy encouragement for that much spending- it would have been better just as a surprise rather than advertising it like it's something exciting or special (i.e. a lot of companies decorate their holiday boxes without "selling" the fact). But still, it's not like it costs anything, so I don't really care.

That mug is silly expensive, but almost all of GW's peripherals are like this, so it's not a surprise.

At least a mug is useful.
