Updates with Krieg Hades Breaching Drills and Sentinel

Also, the trailer for the campaign is here (don't worry, the actual reports will be photos, not videos):
http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/660956.page

I thought I would share some of the armies I am painting for our current narrative campaign (our previous 3 campaigns can be found here: http://www.dakkadakka.com/wiki/en/Gordy2000%27s_Battle_Reports )

The campaign is a grand-escalation from armed civilians and cultists, right through to guard, renegades and eventually loyalist and Chaos marines, Mechanicus (and Dark Mechanicus), Sororitas, Inquisiton and Titan Legions (loyalist and traitor). I will be painting more units for my existing armies (Marine, Chaos, Guard) as well as four new armies (Renegades, Krieg, Mechanicus and Drop Troopers). The other campaign players are also putting together a number of armies (hopefully I can post some of their work in this thread too - it is worth seeing).

So, first up, new stuff for the Death Korps!

Breaching Drills:

Sentinel:

Alternate Weapons

Macharius

Vanquisher

Centaur

Russ

That's a big tank...

Really awesome work. DKoK Engineers are some pretty sweet looking models and you did them justice. How did you do the chipping on the tanks, was it a sponge? I'm looking into weathering methods for some tanks I will be painting soon and I like how yours look.

Nice job brotha! Are the Kreig Korps models all plastic? I was considering expanding a company if they were.

DKoK are all resin from Forge World I believe. I've picked up a few over the years but yet to paint any. When I do these will certainly serve as inspiration! It looks like you've used some airbrushed inks on the vehicles, and some oil washes?

Very nice.

I especially like the choice of airbrush colours for the quad launchers and the metallic effect for the Kriegsmen's armour.

now you just need another 50 or so more of krieg and renegades!

Thanks for the replies - to answer your questions:

-Yep, chipping on the tanks is sponged on. I think I'm getting the hang of it now.

-Yes, DKK are all resin (so a bit of a pain)

- Vehicles have airbrushed shading, some oil washes and oil blending (techniques stolen shamelessly from IA Modelling Masterclass books)

- 77 Krieg and 55 renegades done so far! Will post more photos soon.

Really awesome work on those armour pieces! The weathering is spot on and very effective! Really good balance. I tend to go overboard on the weathering slightly..... but looks like you got the balance right! Top job!

As my father once said to me : You cant polish a turd... but you can roll it in glitter!

That's an amazing paintjob. Wow. Do you sponge on the weathering, and which color do you use for it?

Thanks for the feedback! Chipping is indeed sponged on, using Charandon Granite (or newer version of the same). Rust/Grime is done using oil paints (Burnt Umber and Black)

Wow, those tanks are amazing.

Hands down, the best Plague Marines and Terminators I have ever seen. Those models as so difficult to do that it almost defies explanations - it is commonly either extremely overdone, or too understated, but you've genuinely nailed it!
