I was thinking about looted orks and i was wondering, What are your thoughts on playing against conversion armies? I don't mean armies with some conversions, I mean an entire army that is made out of conversions, like looted orks playing as space marines or tyranids modelled to look like Aliens (the movie) thoughts?

If it looks cool and I know what everything is I'd have no problem.....as long as each model is on an approprate base for what it's "supposed" to be then no harm no foul.

In the warp, searching for Marbo

Heheh, for a while I thought all ork vehicles were conversions. Hey, I play with proxies, so as long as it's modeled so that you know what it is, and it's roughly the same size I'm cool with it.

After all these years of searching for Marbo...he found me. Heretics beware! He's back!

Frankly, I'd relish the chance. I love seeing anything unique or unusual on the table (hence why I love to see FW stuff) so I say it goes, and I'd probably really enjoy the game.

I'm good with a combination of the Rule of Cool along with a few standards.

For example, don't tell me one Ork is a regular tactical marine but a different identical ork is a devastator. Likewise don't point to one Trukk and say it's a rhino, but a nearly identical Trukk is a land raider. If they look the same then they better be the same.

Also, have a printed list that says *exactly* what everything is. ie: Yellow Trukk with Wrecking Ball is Rhino with Storm Bolter. Having a printed list like that which you can give to your opponent should be clear enough so that neither of you are confused as to what is what.

As long as I don't have to ask what everything is meant to be all the time, I say go nuts. Using a daemon prince as a leman russ, some ogres as basilisks and giant rats as guardsmen isn't going to get you any favours though.

If I can tell what each unit is then I don't care at all. For example I joked about using dozens of the watchers in the dark models as daemons(if using daemonology psychers) for my dark angels army to make it seem less heretical, most people thought it would be kind of cool.

I would love to see a Dark Angel list summoning watchers. Please follow through on that idea

I use Wood Elves as Eldar already, and Wraithlords converted up to be Talos engines in my DE army. As long as you are clear on what's what to your opponent, and they aren't confused, there shouldn't be a problem.

I love 'em.

My Tyranid army is converted.

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

As long as it's clear what's what, it's generally something people think is neat. Personally I love well converted armies that show a cool, unified theme.

I'm not a big fan of conversions unless they don't have a model. I am a bit of a GW purist.

Because IMO Orks are just too distinct from Space Marines. But if it's OK with you and your opponent, I got no gripes.

As long as your list is written down and its decently clear whats what then of course, go for it.

Some people might not be okay with it, but never let that stop you from doing what you want with your plastic fun men.
