Maybe you can provide a bit more detail, like what you'd like, what terrain you have, and how much you want to spend?

I saw some great looking ones a while back with city on them double sided with a rural area on the flip side.
I asked how much they cost expecting to overpay at $30 but was willing to do so. When I was told $90, I put my wallet back in my pocket.

90 bucks honestly doesn't seem to be that bad of an investment. For one person, maybe. But if you have multiple players who want to pool in, it's a steal. Otherwise, you could always go to Home Depot, buy a 6 x 4 plyboard for 30 bucks and play on that. Automatically Appended Next Post:

The frontline mats are super heavy duty and dont curl up etc. Plus they look cool. Yes they are $90 but its worth that much.

frontline gaming ones sold like hot cakes. I talked a store owner into getting them and buy was he happy he did. Took about two months and he sold them all. Re-ordered already.
The store has to get 16 at a time usually unless you have an in. But they will sell so encourage the local store to cough it up.

+1 for the Frontline Gaming mats. The ones I have seen are very sturdy and really enhance the look of a gaming table.
Something else to look into:

I know these are not mats, and they are expensive, but the tablescapes from Secret Weapon miniatures are very cool to look at.

I usually end up getting the board and painting it. Heck, gotta get it anyway to lay the mat on. Even chipping in with my buddies, I cant see that sort of investment in something I would only use once in a while. Who wants to fight on the same city block set of streets every game?
I can definately see where a store would want one or even a larger club. For just a few guys playing in the basement, better off IMO to build your own.

This mat sums up the exaggerated theme of 40K for me. Mighty armies clashing in a city environment
Otherwise secretweapon is a good site and so is frontlinegaming's F.A.T mat

I want to see BrotherSRM's 2nd edition armies clashing on that mat.
OT Frontline's mats are fantastic.
