Alright, as the title started to say, I am starting a blood angels force, and would like to know some essential figures to pick up for a good core 500 pt force. I love death company, if that helps at all. I was reckoning a reclusiarch figure, maybe lemartes or something, a death company squad, an assault marine squad, and a baal predator or vidicator? idk. HALP

The new codex is coming out any second now. Wait a little bit because anything we say now will be invalid in a few weeks

get the shield of baal deathstorm set. it contains 5 death company on jump pack, 5 terminators, a deathcompany dreadnought and a unique terminator captain

oh and you get all the tyranid stuff for free, practically, when you add up the costs of the individual blood angel kits

But we don't know if new, nicer, models will come out with the BA release. I'd honestly grab Deathstorm, simply because it's a good value just between the Dreadnought and Death company by themselves. The terminators can be made into CC terminators by buying the appropriate arms off ebay.

Aside from that...Wait for the new codex drops and until the BA drops end so you know exactly what you have to work with.

Figure out what type of army you want to play. Mechanized or jump pack. And then go from there. Get a couple of boxes of Death Company though.

I fancy the idea of a jetpack army maybe some drop pods in there as well... but as others are saying it would probably be best to wait. I am grabbing a set of the new deathstorm set and trading the nid portion to my friend for the blood angel portion of his set for effectively 2 dreads, 10 termis, 10 death company and the captain. (We are each keeping one of the unique characters for ourselves so we have both of them...)

Wait for the new codex. I wouldn't buy anything other than the BA/nids boxed set for now just because it's a good deal and comes with a handy paperback rulebook for traveling so you don't have to lug the big hardback around.

You should wait for the new Codex, but in the mean time a Blood Angels vs Tyranids box is coming out, and it is a very good value. If you have a buddy to swap with you could end up with a sizable force...

The current WD has a few articles about it...5 Terminators, 5 Death Company, a Death Company Dreadnought, a named Captain (1st Co) maybe some more...

Doh! I should Read brfore posting!

In small pt games you need numbers.
Normal Termies suck and DC is too expensive at this pt level.
