I remember one game VS my friends Eldar circa 1995 or so.
I was shooting with my Space Wolf Devastators who were BS5 at the time and could take a targetter making them 6. Effectively anything but a 1 to hit.
Missed with all of them and ended up lashing the lascannon guy off my wooden wardrobe. He was all metal parts except for the shoulder pads and suffice to say he smashed apart completely
I dont recall ever being so angry during a game. Ah the joys of ill tempered youth.....

I converted a Shrike model before the actual model came out and put him up against an Ork Warboss in a game...

He was killed instantly and I was really pissed off about it. I didn't throw the model or anything, but did do a LOT of complaining and some swearing about the rules.

I was 13.

Angry, actually in a game? Never. Frustrated? I don't know, maybe my tone of voice changes slightly. That's it.

Don't make a great fuss at the table, getting visibly and non-jovially mad about bad luck (the odd quip about how gak your luck is today is fine, just don't overdo it) makes you look like a moron and acting angry towards your opponent is childish and an assholish thing to do. I've only seen a case of the latter once outside of games where it was kids playing kids elsewhere in the store. I watched a grown man get geniunely pissy about this 15-16 year old that was wiping the floor with his Necrons, but at least he conceded abruptly instead of spending the last half ranting non-stop like the games between kids end up.

When my opponent asks for the twelfth time that game what my toughness is because he has to roll to hit... Not wound. To hit. Still learning the rules and all that but still, twelve times making the same mistake pissed me off and I ended the game there and then and told him to go study what he should already remember before playing again.

And I mean, failing a three inch charge kinda got me annoyed but I can't say I was surprised. The dice weren't on my side that day. I sat in the corner and had a drink, ignoring the rest of my assault phase and just ending my turn.

I stabbed a guy once.

Just kidding. My games can be a little heated. I'm chill with dudes who don't know me, but with friends I'm a little more open with my ire. I've never broken a model or gotten physical with anyone.

I ashamedly admit I've become cross during a couple of games many years ago when I was a young teenager...nothing rude, just sulking a bit about my Space Marines being squashed like bugs by lesser human guardsmen.

I grew up a lot since then, but it also helps to play armies like Orks where you're reminded it's just a game (even if it does cost $500 or so for an army )

I was playing against daemons in a tournament as tyranids. And the guy rolled 11 on the warpstorm table 3 turns in a row. Lost two flyrants and a tervigon for absolutely no reason. I literally lost more points to that random crap then his army actually killed. I was pretty peeved that he won the game without actually having to do anything. Since the game ended sooner then it should have, I had to go outside to cool down before I started mouthing off to everyone.

My case was in a tourney where a bug player cheated and intimidated the guys he played in earlier games to get wins.
When he played me, I stood up to him and would not let him cheat me. As the guy was almost as large as me and much wilder in appearance and attitude, the TO did not want to take sides and said to roll off for it.
I rolled a six and after seeing that he refused to roll.
Ignoring the rules AND the ruling of the TO had gotten my temperature a little steamed so I told him to roll the dice, follow the rules or concede.
This was turn one. He refused to finish the game so I got a concession.

Tournament at FLGS:

Had one of the out-of-town WAAC players as my opponent round 3. Was running 80 sniper kroot vs his tyranids. Needless to say I was doing well.

He starts trying to slow me down, picking over every little rule and walking off to grab his rulebook. It wasn't until I was basically in the process of the winning shot that he stated "You never said you were using your markerlights"

I nearly lost it, he got the TO and said the same thing, so his gaunts wouldn't die. The TO knew me, knew that tau were my first and main army, and somehow the bastard convinced him that I didn't say that I was using my flipping markerlights. Of course I had said that, just like the rest of the game, but now he was just being petty and insulting.

Had I not worked for the FLGS at the time, the bastard would have been bleeding in the parking lot. Instead, I reluctantly just walked away from the table, completely furious and told the TO "I will not play with an opponent that acts that way"

I don't recall ever getting angry in a game of anything. At least not about anything to do with the game.

If playing a game is making you angry, you're doing something wrong.

Reading some of the circular arguments in the rule lawyer forum or constantly having to skip over the same 3-4 posters decrying how bad a game is which they "no longer play, take that GW!!!1" is more frustrating than anything I've experienced on the TT.

For me, it was a guy bringing Imotek to a 30k apocalypse game, which me and my partner ran mostly infantry units so had to roll for lightning over 50 times per turn. And the guy said "guys, I'm sorry to be THAT guy, but I'm taking Imotek." He could've just said I'm taking Imotek and be done with it, but did it and announced it in a way to grab attention, i blatantly told him he's not TFG and stop trying to be, and told him he's actually hurting his team by slowing down the game which is teammates agreed with, but didn't care at all. Also he decided to take the difficult/dangerous terrain upgrade and even when he realized it affected his teammates as well, decided to keep it. It annoyed me beyond belief that a player would do that to his own teammates just so he can stand out. And that's sad if that feeling is coming from the opponents side of the table.

I had another time were I could've gotten angry at a tournament but thankfully my opponent was a good guy who have me a fun, tough game. He ran a 1750 tournament list that spammed 4 wave serpents with naked guardians, naked farseer, and 3 wraithknights. He ran this same list against me in the past and I was able to pull out a win, but got revenge with a 25-7 victory, my dice rolls were bad as I failed 2+ wound rerollijg due to digital weapons which allowed his WK the chance to kill my TWC. If my opponent had a TFG and WAAC attitude, I would've been not happy at all, but since he was polite and well mannered, I was able to accept the loss no problem and we actually chatted after the game about random jibber jabber

What got me angry included moments like watching a club player (grown adult) cheat his ass off against a 11-year old new player. Or another club player (grown adult) who would blatantly cheat and get angry, yelling, swearing and threatening violence when he got called on it. That one nearly ended in a fight at one point. I actually preferred the powergaming waac players because they usually got the rules right and could be reasoned with if the rules were clear enough (which they usually weren't).

edit: oh and what i did was stop playing at that club.

The most riled up I have been in a game in recent memory was actually a fantasy game. Was playing my good friends Dark Elves with my Beastmen, he was running two big blocks of crossbow men, shot them at my block of Bestigors with BSB, combat lord, and level 4 caster installed. Killed just enough guys to force a LD, which I thought I would have with LD 8 and rerolls...of course not, they broke and ran. Next turn they rallied but at the point it would take them another two turns to reach combat, so I ran forward my other blocks of infantry, getting them into position. His turn he shot both my blocks of Gors, causing more LD test. Now they were still in range of the BSB with rerolls I thought there was no way I could have that bad of luck...they both failed even with rerolls. The game was over before I even got to do anything, I conceded the game to him and he didn't blame me at all. I didn't really get mad and yell or anything but I was obviously perturbed and had no interest in playing the game anymore.

In 40k? Every time I play Tyranids, not because the army is bad but because I ALWAYS play with my Haruspex and without fail he always fails to do anything.

Yeah, they said they are sorry and we can come next week and we won't even have to pay entry fee for the next tournament they do.

I think the only time I've gotten upset in a game was getting into a rules argument with my opponent at a tourney. He tried to tank shock with his Dark Eldar flyer. We get into it about how hes not able to do it. I call a judge over and my opponent then denies even attempting the move....After all is said and done I get dinged on my sportmanship score for apparently slow playing by calling a judge over for no reason.

When I was younger some older gamers convinced me to start fantasy. I bought a huge, crap painted Bretonian army for ridiculously cheap. Said army contained 65 unprinted archers, among other nonsense.

I never got into fantasy (making Bretonians a fitting army), but whenever I get pissed at the dice gods I line up an archer about 30 yards down range and see whose the better shot. Still have almost a dozen left..

I was getting pretty mad when a buddy of mine kept firing his Leman Russ and never missed on scatter once. I handled it by dropping a melta bomb on the LR and winning the game. It is just a game, no sense getting all butthurt when stuff doesn't go your way.

Hmm , never actually angry. I don't play very serious, even at GTs, so I have never been actually angry or really even that frustrated playing 40k. I guess having a job where winning is critical makes me appreciate the whimsy of a game dependent on dice rolls.

There's a gaming group from Reno that (used) to come in play in our flgs' events. Several of them are... not the most fun to play against. One in particular tends to nitpick every single little rule the entire game, and there will be at least one major argument in which he will start angrily pointing fingers. It can get kind of funny sometimes. In particular, one of my buddies was playing him in a tournament. By buddy plays mainly Thousand Sons, very well painted army, wins frequently on skill despite how terrible Thousand Sons are. Anyways, game starts and my buddy rolls to Seize. He rolls a 6. The other guy gets pissed, accusing him of cheating and demanding he reroll it. So my buddy shrugs, grabs another dice and rolls another 6. The rage was hilarious.

Brilliant I hope your friend also won the game to further rub it in

Other than a bit of quiet swearing after really bad dice rolls, I don't get angry during a game. Ssadly unlike a friend of mine who thinks anything he can't kill easily - e.g Serpents or LR - must be OP and is known to get rather angry/frustrated after we've blown up all his AT weapons.

He says OP, I say good target selection

Was once playing a apocalypse game with a friend, I was running salamanders and my friend daemons, at our end we were facing one guy with a huge black templar force. Because we joined in slightly late the opponent didn't get a great look at the daemons held in reserve. Early into the game my friend announced the arrival of his Red Mist which consisted of approx 100 blood letters and a blood thirster, upon arrival I think he failed to roll a direct hit on scatter maybe once which resulted in a lot of tactical marines, sword brethren, and helbrecht being butchered. We were 13 at the time and the man in his twenties wearing a trench coat told us both to get outside to beat us upbecause we found it funny , claiming he had served in the army for some reason
