There's so much negativity in this subforum. Riots in 'Murica, immigration and police brutality to name a few. This is just a little thread so everyone can post up something that has just made their day or weekend or just been something positive.

So to start I'm going tell what made me happy. I'm playing my Gen 4 Pokemon Diamond game, realise I've completed everything possible except for completing the Pokedex, by seeing all the Pokemon of course. But I can't because I don't have the Gen 3 games for the earlier pokemon not found alone in the game. So off I travel to Amazon nd find LeafGreen version, used but in good condition for a modest price. That's the first thing. I order and estimated delivery is 2nd December, 6 days away (I ordered on Wednesday past btw) at earliest, 5th December at lastest. Not bad. Imagine my glee when it gets dispatched the following day, and the excitement when I see it in the post the day after , not to mention the 2 TGC cards he bundled with it, so there are two good things.
But unfortunately, the game turned out to be an all-too-common Chinese/Korean/Japanese copy, therefore, unable to link with the Gen 4 games. Although, it was a remarkably well made copy and I've had fun playing it alone, even got a female Bulbasaur with my first go (and female starters are rare).
Rather dissappointed, I contacted the seller and asked if he had any problemz himself or other complaints. He told me he bought it from Gumtree and it worked fine for him and was mixed in with other legit games so never noticed. He checked other games and found some were also copies and was able to pull them before resale and getting some angry soccer mom accusing him of trying to rob little Timmy. He offered me a refund or a copy of Pokemon Emerald he had that was 100% legitimate (he bought it from a highstreet store during its release in 2002). That made me smile that there were still good natured, fair people out there, and that I was able to help him find the fakes too. Also, I had planned to buy that game from him in a few weeks anyways.
In my mind I don't see why he should pay compensation for a mistake, but he felt he did. We met in the middle and he's giving me the game for half price, which I thought was fair on him and me. Not only that, I was able to order a new LeafGreen from Games Exchange which is a highstreet store and therefore guaranteed to be real (and I have no issue demanding a refund from them, as I have an email response with the guarantee it is legit) and should be here it a week or so.

I just found it really refreshing to meet such a gentlemen online and deal with someone so reasonable. When I realised it was a fake I was expect a whole drama like I sometimes here people here get into with commission painters and sales through ebay.

So anyway, that's my weekend made, and now post yours.

Is 'Eavy Metal Calling?

UK

For me, the new Star Wars trailer did it.

It may sound silly, but as soon as the original theme kicked in, I just knew that the movies and stories and setting I love so much and owe so many years of enjoyment to were back, here to stay, and just as great ever. Call me a fool, but every lingering doubt I didn't want to have about it evaporated as soon as that first note came over the speakers!

For me it's always the little things that either get me the maddest or happiest. I tend to try and stay level headed in the really bad times and really good times. But little things like seeing my daughter laugh make me smile everytime.

This past week I've been drowning in essays and the little breaks I have are really helped by my dog, Teddy, since she's really helped me de-stress from how I can pet for hours. Here's a pic of her from when we started covering her with bedsheets.

Spoiler:

For me it was actually the parody one I saw before it was released that made my day, I really wasn't expecting it to be fake and it made me laugh my ass off after watching it.

I went to buy some Nids today from a guy via a Craigslist ad. He threw in 2 Mycetic Spore conversions that I might be able to use for these new drop pod units, and a HUGE bag of nid bits, free of charge. He didn't have to do that...I was quite happy with the deal as we made it over email, which didn't include this stuff.

His generosity made me happy.
