Konrad Kurze supposedly let himself be killed by M'Shen, however, the vid-feed stopped right at the start. How do we know if he is still alive and just got a psyker to mess with his mind, then sent him home with fake memories?

Wut?

Considering there was a corpse later found by the Night Lords, and a head, that's a bit more then a Jedi mind trick.

I'd want this to be true so bad, but yeah sorry Kurze is done. Its fitting anyway saw himself become a monster and let himself die because of that, makes him much cooler. It's a more fitting end than, Leman "Peace Yall Im Outty" Russ, DE playtoy Jaghati Khan, or Currently on a trophy shelf Vulcan.

Plus, his death fits the "source material" if you will, for Konrad Kurze: Conrad's 'Heart of Darkness' and the film 'Apocalypse Now' which both saw the death of their Kurtz character who had wallowed too long in horror and death.

It used to be that the video was cut short, I want to say that ADB's Night Lords trilogy was the first source to confirm his death. That being said I don't recall what happened to the head/body. The Night Haunter would have made a great Daemon Prince.

Did you not see the end of Apocalypse Now?

Martin Sheen (M'Shen) cuts Colonel Kurtz's (character created by Joseph Conrad, played by Marlon Brando) head right the feth off with a machete (C'tan phase-blade)... and then calls an airstrike down onto the village with the radio sign "apocalypse now", fulfilling Kurtz's final wish: "Kill them. Kill them all."... (at least in the director's cut of the film.)

Kurtz is stone dead.

This. I personally love how Konrad went out. I use it as the insperation of my own Night Lords.

"Because the Wolves kill cleanly, and we do not. They also kill quickly, and we have never done that, either. They fight, they win, and they stalk back to their ships with their tails held high. If they were ever ordered to destroy another Legion, they would do it by hurling warrior against warrior, seeking to grind their enemies down with the admirable delusions of the 'noble savage'. If we were ever ordered to assault another Legion, we would virus bomb their recruitment worlds; slaughter their serfs and slaves; poison their gene-seed repositories and spend the next dozen decades watching them die slow, humiliating deaths. Night after night, raid after raid, we'd overwhelm stragglers from their fleets and bleach their skulls to hang from our armour, until none remained. But that isn't the quick execution the Emperor needs, is it? The Wolves go for the throat. We go for the eyes. Then the tongue. Then the hands. Then the feet. Then we skin the crippled remains, and offer it up as an example to any still bearing witness. The Wolves were warriors before they became soldiers. We were murderers first, last, and always!" —Jago Sevatarion

Read Lord of the Night if you haven't already. Written BEFORE ADB's trilogy and goes into length about Kurze's death. ADB retroactively changed whatever he wanted because nothing in 40k is canon but yeah, Zso Sahaal killed Kurze's killer, took his head back and the crown that was promised to him as 1st Company Captain.

I'm going to make a point to re-read that this December. I wonder what he did with the head. If it wasn't his primarch I'm sure the head would be kept in a freezer and only be taken out to whisper sweet nothings to it.

Man, so Kurze is dead? Why are all the Primarchs dead, away, traitors, or mortally wounded, and hidden. The only cool one was Konrad Kurze and Omegon/Alpharius because they were the only ones that were possibly not psycho, hidding or dead, but ah well..

He was psycho in the way of "you jaywalked.... so I'm going to, very slowly, peel all the skin off your body and hang you by your genitals from a lamp-post, as a warning to others not to jay-walk."

I know this is OT, but how do we know about Jaghatai? That sounds like it sucks...

Khan charged off into the Webway to hunt Dark Eldar. That cannot have ended well. Face it, none of the Loyalist Primarchs got off easy in the post-Heresy world. The lucky ones are the ones who died.

But...technically still "alive" and "out there," yeah?

I'm enjoying all the HH development of these characters, and am definitely noticing the fact that the "Good" Primarchs are not all actually dead and gone forever.

But...poor Kurze. Poor Ferrus. Vulkan's another one I don't understand--isn't he immortal? But he got stabbed by the psionic lightning fork of power and...is hibernating? How is he a trophy? that's another one I don't understand.

So much fluff to digest...

Stupid Trayzn. So...kind of "undead"...waiting to be revived Vulcan? That could be a dangerous piece of a collection.

Thanks for the clarification.

Trazyn has a "man of giant stature in baroque power armor, mouth locked in a silent scream" (paraphrased). No further details on that piece of his collection is given.

Any suit of power armor owned by any Space Marine that's more than a century old is going to be "baroque". If it *is* Vulkan, he's apparently in a Necron stasis shell of some kind. Trazyn is also known to "cheat" on his collections, using anachronistic soldiers (captured modern IG) to depict historic events. That could just be some random Space Marine.

Could even be the Emperor

IA: Space Wolves
Time seemed to stop as the Emperor of Mankind threw away his cloak, the hood falling from his face, his true form revealed. Standing far taller than any man present. swathed in light and clad in baroque golden armour.

Trazyn teamed up with Assholetep and left a decoy after Assholetep shot the Emperor with a tachyon arrow. This was after the E had successfully beaten Horus, suffering only some bruises, cuts and a few cracked ribs. (the Emperor whispered a little too loudly that Assholetep's hat was 30,000 years out of style in Assholetep's presence when trying to establish an alliance with the few awake Necrons seeing them as a powerful ally to have against Chaos. That was a mistake Emperor, big mistake).

But who would you suggest is on the golden throne? Horus? But then who would you suggest was the body that wars were fought over (Horus's body and clones).

You could make a great theory out of it if you can justifiably (no matter how out there the justification is) fill the holes.

Currently it's an ossified husk of what was then an Old One barely kept alive in Trazyn's collection, that is until a wraith accidentally knocked the fragile thing over causing it to sustain the injuries we see upon the Corpse God's body. Trazyn, having no more use for a broken set in his collection, lent the dying Old One to Assholetep to wreak his vengeance on the condition that Assholetep provides him something of equal or greater value for the collection. Assholetep had the poor thing cosmetically altered to look like the Emperor and as a last screw you to both the empire of the Emperor and to the Old One, Assholetep used MSS on the Old One to make it wish to be sat upon the Golden Throne only to give it the longest and most excruciating death possible (no one can tell, but he has a wedgie) while forcing the Imperium to sacrifice countless psykers to sustain the Old One's immense psychic might.

I think it looks pretty awesome. Maybe not what I envisioned but still awesome.
