Total Tyranids: 1000

So as you can see, my list has an offensive and defensive element.

The offensive element consists of the Hive Tyrant starting the game in glide mode (he can still jink! ...and after receiving a nice 4+ cover save when getting shot at, only being able to snapfire doesnt affect him as he is melee) and trying to get into cc by turn 2. Preferably to tie up a juicy enemy shooty unit.

Furthermore, I have the deepstriking Mawloc who will target a dense defensive formation the enemy might have and backup for the Melee Tyrant.

As a distraction, I'll have the Genestealers infiltrate behind LoS blocking cover and they can lend a helping hand in melee by turn 3.

The defensive element of my army consists of backfield ranged units in the form of an Exocrine watching out for terminators and the like, and a Tyrannofex with the torrent incinerator, basically. They move up and get into range and start firing. I'll have a Venomthrope granting both of them a 5+ cover save. That, combined with regenerate, and the Tyrannofex's plethora of wounds and 2+ armor save should ensure at least one of them will stick around to lay the hurt to squad after enemy squad within reach.

The list is useless against Flyers, but I wont face those much in my meta. The list is built to take some punishment as 3 of the 4 MCs have regeneration, so I hope they'll start kicking the bucket on turn 5 rather than turn 4.

Thoughts? I decided not to go with the Dakka Flyrant because first of all thats 30 points costlier, secondly it looks less aesthetically pleasing, thirdly it prevents me from focusing on melee (running with the tyrant, not being impeded by the consequences of jinking, being able to tie up an enemy unit in cc and thus reduce overall enemy army firepower etc.)

Dakka flyrants are great, but not our only option. Melee Flyrants can work fine in low point games. However, he still needs his e-grubs and a melee tyrant NEEDS adrenals at least. He only has four wounds, so regeneration is not likely going to be worth it for him, I'd trade that out for the upgrades I suggested. Old Adversary is also a worthwhile upgrade if you can find the points for it on a melee tyrant.

Exocrines, Mawlocs, and Acid Spray Tyrannofexes are all good options for your heavies. I think that you have the Regeneration upgrades reversed for them though. The only model I would possibly give Regeneration to is your Tyrannofex because he is the most resilient of the big nids you have. He has 6 wounds with 2+ armor, so he is the hardest to kill off, and regen would help with that. Your mawloc also has 6 wounds, but he should be deep striking to take out dangerous targets, and so is easily separated from your force and focused down by your enemy by his own design. Adding the regen to your t-fex will let you be a little more aggressive with him and just ram that monster down your enemy's throat, forcing them to deal with him. Between those two and your flyrant, your exocrine should be a bit lower priority and should not need the regen. So you save a few points for things like adrenal glands or additional troop models.

Your tyrant is your only source of synapse and will be targeted right away. With his speed he will be away from the rest of the army aswell.

Good point Amoras. If you drop the regen from the exocrine, flyrant, and mawloc, you can afford a zoanthrope and upgrades for your tyrant.

Good points...Shoot, if you just drop all the Regen, you can afford a x3 Warrior Brood, that provides Synapse, and is Objective Secured Troops. And in a low point game Warriors can really do a lot. (I'd want to find 10 points for a Cannon though. )

The will of the hive is always the same: HUNGER

Is synapse really that important? Genestealers have a high LD and will anyway be relatively close to the flyrant, as will the Mawloc.

The Exocrine and Tyrannofex are the ones that could use synapse, but not having it isnt too bad for them as it either forces them to fire at the closest enemy target (doesnt really impact the acid maw torrent flamer) or might even make them better at shooting.

Only guys screwed will be the Termagants, but I'm thinking of replacing them with a 2nd genestealer brood to which I will add some members of the first so they reach min size.

I have 22 fething genestealers from space hulk and 6 from Macragge I need to find a use for them lol

You are right in that you are not going to be as dependent on synapse as say, a horde build would. It would provide you with a little more control over your units, but you can get away with it in this list. I still suggest dropping the regens on the tyrant, mawloc, and exocrine. That is 90 points that you can use for upgrades like egrubs, adrenals, or OA on your tyrant.

90 points leaves you enough room for a Malanthrope, if Forge World is an option.

If you want the flying Tyrant to be melee I would give him lashwhip & bonesword and an use the data slate from Leviathan where he comes with 20 gargoyles and can LOS to them (but he can't Zoom).

With 20 ablative wounds you can drop the regeneration. Although since its a dataslate you would still need another HQ.
