TACTICS AND STRATEGIES: the general idea is to keep a fairly flexible list with tools against all the major players out there, I've minimized troops for maximum firepower and made sure to include good anti-air units that can still tackle ground units if no planes or flying MCs are present. The UM doctrines will play only a minor role in this list since I'm not fielding tacticals or devastators but will nevertheless provide 1-turn buffs to the scouts and centurions.

Tigurius: he will most likely roll on Divination and get the typical shooting buffs, unless Invisibility is mandatory against a particular enemy; in all likelihood he'll ride with the Cents and buff them; between Prescience, Tactical doctrine, and Storm of Fire; I should get a few rounds of twin-linkage going.

Sternguards: bit of a last minute inclusion; will probably ride behind the LR for cover and let loose some melta-shots on a critical enemy vehicle or use their special ammo on a key target. I like their flexibility and can also be buffed by Tigurius in a bind.

Scouts: snipers will most likely start on the board in a reinforced ruin; unless the enemy has too much anti-cover firepower in which case they'll most likely outflank. The LSS will most likely start in reserve and outflank, hopefully coming in late game thanks to Tigurius reserve manipulation.

Centurions in LR: the main source of anti-armor/elite firepower; fairly resilient and provides the centurions with the mobility they normally lack; I'm mainly worried about deep-striking melta-units (Crisis suits and pods) or Knights which could pop the LR early on...

Sicaran; a great shooting platform that will put the hurt on skimmers and bike units (ignores jink); I went with the HB sponsoons for bargain mass-shooting (9 HB shots total if stationary), with front AV13 and side/back 12, it's fairly resilient. I didn't buy armoured ceramite as it start to make it pretty expensive; however I gave it the Battle of Sarosh legacy which gives it interceptor/skyfire/tank-hunter/night-vision for a turn; combined with the main gun's stats it will destroy a flyer or FMC no-problem

TFC: is there to take out key units hiding in cover or behind a wall somewhere while providing some horde-control and reinforcing a ruin.

Stormwing formation: keeps my heavy slots open while bringing some serious AA threat; also the whole formation get straffing run as long as 1 stormtalon is alive so it will do some work against ground units too. The only down-side is that it won't benefit from Tigurius' reserve manipulation as it's not part of the UM detachment. Would it be legal to give it the IH trait for extra cheese?

Culexus: will most likely ride in the Stormraven; this is the absolute bane of psychic deathstar and daemons/psykers; I absolutely love this unit, it'll single-handedly dismantle a psychic-heavy army. In a bind I can have him stay near Tigurius to boost his shooting power (unlikely, but it's an option).

Any feedback is appreciated; let me know if you can think of armies that will give this list a serious hard time (and how to counter them); thanks!

Have you considered the land raider achilles from forgeworld? It would help with your melta problem

Good suggestion but it can't carry the centurions + Tigurius.

It's unorthodox but I like it. I do have a few tweaks to suggest though:

Sternguard I'm not sold on. Consider a cmd squad instead. +50 pts gets you 4 meltaguns and a p.axe inside 4 storm shields with fnp. That's a serious unit. Either way I would consider a pod instead of the rhino.

The scouts I feel would be better served bare in double LS storms. Otherwise I'd at least lose the upgrades on the first squad and probably the camo on the snipers as well. They can always GtG in bolstered ruins for 2+ cover.

The legacy isn't worth it in the context of this list IMO. Save the pts for other things. Not saying it isn't good but the changes to skyfire and the fact that you have 3 flyers already makes it extraneous gear to me.

Lastly I would include the omni scope on those cents even at just 3 strong. Split fire can be game changing.

Just some friendly suggestions.

I like it all good sir!

I've thought about the command squad but its tough to fit poi t-wise and the Sterns do have the special ammo.

Good point about the Legacy, will try to drop it and revisit the command squad.

Sadly, I don't have a 2nd LSS, otherwise I'd totally do it. I'll drop the camos on the first squad for the omniscope.

Thanks again!

So, after fudging around with options and points:

- I swap the Sternguards for a command squad with 3 MGs, apothecary and 1 veteran with SS and LC in a rhino (as much as I like pods, a single pod will turn them into a suicide unit and that's not what I want)

-2x scout squads in LSS/HF (I dropped the cloaks and MBs, I can loan a LSS from a friend)

-get the omniscope, lose the Legacy on the Sicaran and the SB on the LR

2 concerns/issues:

-still unsure between command-squad and sternguards, the command squad gives me longer-lasting anti-armor while the sternguards can handle different threats

-do I kit out the scouts with CCW/BP? or shotguns? or bolters? (almost leaning towards shotguns in this specific scenario)
