Ok, so this is a list just to hammer away on people and possible tournament list. Plus the low model count should make it a somewhat cheaper army to build and i can spend more time making it look purdy tell me what you think be it good or bad or even if this list wont do nearly as well as i think it looks on paper. I want to know. There are two lists, cant decide which

Both lists are pretty solid. Personally, I would take list 2 and put the banner of swiftness of the WoC infantry block. It'll make them harder to avoid, and harder to take out since all your warriors will be in one solid unit that you can buff and support more easily. The MSU knights are interesting. I could see that doing well depending on your local meta.

Don't do scaled skin on your mounted lord. He's already at 2+ armor so all you need is +1 armor. Do a charmed shield since it costs the same as a mundane shield. And it's way cheaper. You can put scaled skin on the sorc. lord to give him a 1+ save

Also, your BSB hero has 5 points left over on his magic items alotment. I would try to trim points to give him a sword of striking over the biting blade.

Thanks. I think I like the second list better aswell. i think i will put the banner on the warriors. makes for better synergy having a fully fast moving army. Yeah, not a lot of real shooting, but i should be in CC pretty fast and just start eating away.

any other suggestions or comments? I havent started building this list yet, so anything is welcome. Thats one of the things im already liking about this list, yes, low model count but that makes this army a lot easier and cheaper to build model wise.

Am I reading it right that Lord 1 and Sorcerer both have a Talisman of Preservation?

I'm assuming one has the Talisman of Protection instead.

Terrorgheists are a hard counter to this list, and basically to WoC. Chaos Legions with Skullcannons help there.

Metal magic and gunlines will also rip right through you. Putting some MR on a char might help vs the metal.

A couple units of warhounds would help to set up favorable charges, screen your knights from shooting, and trigger fanatics if you play goblins.

excellent suggestions koosh. I agree i need some kind of chaff. so i moved some things around on my lords, took the marks off the chariots, only knocked off 1 warrior (ill just run them 6 wide) and took out the champions on the knights and warriors (seemed like the best option of the bearer and musician i think) and was able to pick up 3 units of 5 warhounds. -OR- i could knock the warriors down to only 20 strong, running them 5 wide, and pick up an extra warhound unit or 2..... hrm...

I'd say more than 15 warhounds is excessive, 10 would probably be fine.

The dragonhelm does not confer MR, the spellshield does. The dragonhelm provides a 2++ vs fire, which I don't believe MR can improve, even vs fire spells. IIRC different sources of MR don't stack, you take the highest. You want MR in the knights+chars, otherwise searing doom will just wreck them.

Sorc Lord should keep the dispel scroll, or possibly a scroll of shielding (4+ ward vs spell damage, DOES stack with MR, one use only).

The BSB doesn't need E.Shield, if he's in chaos armor on a barded steed, you only need +1 to get him to 1+ armor.

Looks a little better protected. I'd give it a spin and see how your meta treats you.

Two Questions:

1) Have we already discussed halberds on your warriors? Are you planning to use them more for anvil purposes than tearing faces off things?
2) What lore is your sorcerer rocking?

no, havent discussed halberds. and as for their role, guess that depends on who i play. they could be an anvil, an anchor, a center piece, all depends i think.

i think im gonna go with lore of metal. i need some range and that seems the best way to go

Desafortunadamente, your options are Nurgle or Death due to your level 4's mark. I'm all for Nurgle as Death is such a dick lore, but I suppose whenever you need to turn it up to 11 you can head into a tournament with Death loaded up.

I ask about halberds because they're the auto-include for warriors, giving them the teeth to tear through most anything in their way, however at the cost of a little survivability vs shields. Maybe this is where the Lore of Nurgle comes in? Giving them the regen or toughness to offset the lessened save / lack of parry?

In this list however I was thinking S5 warriors may feel a little redundant, as all those knights are S5 hammers already, and having a dedicated anvil could be part of the plan.

I think I still prefer halberds on the Chaos Warriors, especially seeing as they have the Mark of Nurgle which gives them all the defence in a melee they need. Against shooting, the Lore of Nurgle exists for a reason.

The standard case is that Uncle Festus goes in the warrior block, and Regen beats Parry 9/10 times (the last one being against fire)


But Metal is good, cast scaly skin on the warriors and laugh as they become nearly invincible.


But go Halberds, they are the best choice by far. S4 doesn't really cut it on shock troops, and you haven't got the ranks to tarpit, you need to kill more to stop you from losing combat.
