I am looking for clarification on what Psychic powers can be cast while the psycher is in close combat? It seems like I remember reading that only blessings and maledictions, but that may have been 6th ed? Can someone point me to where in the BRB this is clarified?

Thats correct for 6th edition, as there were no Conjuration powers. Now that there are, you can cast conjuration/malediction/blessings from CC. The only one you can't cast in CC AFAIK is witchfire, that is stated at the very end of page 398 of the digital ibook version, don't know page number for hardcopy, but it
s in psychic phase > Types of Phychic Powers > witchfire

Dark Angels 1st, 2nd, 5th, 10th Companies,

~6500 points of Tyranids: Hive Fleet Niadra

I think, but not 100% sure, but cant you cast nova powers too? there's a line saying regardless of being in close combat. But whether that refers to the psyker or the target of the psyker is a bit ambiguous.
I sort of agree with him

i think the wording is the same in the 7th edition book more or less.

Unfortunately no. Good article but no proof by RaW.
Novas are Witchfires. Witchfires are clear on this:
"a Psyker must be able to see the target unit (or target point) and cannot be locked in combat if he wishes to manifest a witchfire power."

Nova's may affect things locked in combat. But, it's unclear whether you can manifest a Nova while being locked in combat. I play it that you can't manifest a nova in combat. We really need a FAQ on this issue.

I thought it was pretty clear actually. Nova is a witchfire power so unless the Nova subtype or the specific power says otherwise, you can't cast it while in combat.

This is all true. However, the specific rules for Nova's include qualifiers which modify the original limitation of Witchfires - allowing them to hit things in combat, not requiring a roll to hit, etc. How that language is applied is the question. It is ambiguous whether "regardless of being in close combat" applies to the target or the caster. It really does require a FAQ.

You cannot get to that step unles syou have already cast the power, which as a witchfire you cannot do while locked in combat. It is not ambiguous.

Yeah, novas affect units in CC, but cannot be fired if the psyker is in CC.
This one seems pretty clear, although I can see how others would read the nova rules and make the implication that it could work in CC. It also has a cool visual implication as the pysker blasts back enemies it is attacking in CC.
But alas, RAW does not allow for it.

Nova's would be a bit brutal if they could, considering how densely packed a CC normally is.
