This is a terrain piece I built for a Cityfight board. It's just a basic emplaced bunker that's been partially buried by crumbling buildings. The bunker was made from a bit of packing Styrofoam (the stuff that comes packaged with appliances or electronics), and was given a thin coat of spackle/drywall filler to texture and protect the foam, as well as get rid of that telltale foam appearance. I added some card detail around the vision slits and the rear of the bunker to hide the rear edge. The buried barrels represent defensive fougasse. It's mostly just drybrushed with some pigments added as scorching and powder burns.
A dismounted cav-scout team advances cautiously on the abandoned bunker...

Looks pretty cool to me. The only thing I might have done differently is built the ruin partially on top of the bunker to tie them in together a bit more. And perhaps add some rubble to the top of the bunker to show how the buildings surrounding it have collapsed onto it.

That's actually a really cool idea. I might have to mod a future CoD kit build and incorporate a bunker into the ruins. Building terrain for wargames is always a bit of a compromise and, the flat top does allow me to place figs up above. Thanks for the compliment and suggestion

Looks great, what did you use for the base?

Thank you!

Thanks. The base is 1/4-inch hardboard/ MDF built up with foam and drywall filler. It's sturdy, if a bit overbuilt

It looks great. I especially like the multilaser battery added to the back.
I think the earlier poster who was commenting about rubble on the roof was right, and also pointing towards something larger. That is that the two buildings sort of don't look like they belong next to each other. One looks old, dirty, and heavily damaged while the other one looks bright, relatively clean, relatively new, and relatively undamaged.
It creates the impression that the city was destroyed, and then, later, they came in and added a bunker. If they had that kind of time and resources, though, then why didn't they clear off the rubble stub next to it?
It would be a risk, but you could perhaps consider darkening the bunker or lightening the ruins, so they look more like they were built at the same time, or else make the bunker look like it's been there longer, either through things like debris on the top or more battle damage to the face or more trash in the bunker from previous people who used it.
Even if you don't do any of this, though, it still looks really good, and a nice way to expand from the ridiculously tiny GW terrain pieces into something more real.

@Ailaros: Thanks for the compliments and feedback.
When I first built this, the idea was that the bunker came after the city had been fought over for an extended period of time: long siege, city razed, attackers push in and build emplacements to defend key areas. Defenders retake sections of the city and re-use abandoned emplacements. Rinse and repeat over years of time. So, in that sense, the bunker should look a bit out of place. Even in the grimdark, far future, I can't imagine many cities have bunkers pre-built on city streets, waiting for invasion. Unless you're on Cadia
However, I probably could have dirtied it up a bit more and added more rubble around and on top. Maybe even a bit more battle-damage. I'll definitely think about those things the more I build for my Cityfight terrain set.
