I might be wrong here, but I heard that there is some bad blood between the Black Templar and the Dark Angels. Is that true? If so, why? Where is this fluff found?

There was a little scuffle a while back where the BT captured a person that the Dark Angels were very interested in obtaining, and after a bit of discussion, the DA blasted the BT fleet off the universe.
So a spot of bad blood, it's safe to say.

It seems unlikely that the BT know about it, since the Dark Angels are pretty tight-lipped and there were no Templar survivors.

It's the worst kept secret in the imperium. The only people who don't know are probably the DA initiates. 7th Edition said that the imperium is all one big happy family now anyways, even the Space Puppies. So let's let bygones be bygones, eh?

There's no evidence that I can find suggesting that Lionel Johnson was homosexual. It seems to be complete conjecture.
I haven't heard of the Dark Angels and Black Templar having bad relations though if there are it is likely to be in regards to the Ophidium Gulf Strike Cruiser incident as previously mentioned.

This explains the close relationship between the DA and the Rainbow Warriors, and their mutual disdain for the NASCAR set that is the Space Rednecks, er Wolves.

It was never explicitly stated that the Dark Angels destroyed the Strike Cruiser so I'm unsure if it counts as an actual retcon. What new information is there about the incident and from what source?

BT ship later sends out distress signal and is never heard from again
The DA being the closest to the scene so to speak were asked if they knew anything, their response amounting to "what distress signal?"
