Subject: Calling all experienced model makers and freelancers- Japanese Diorama

Hi there,
My company has been commissioned to create a large Japanese temple and house diorama for a video project to shoot in February 2015.
We are looking for any experienced modellers based in London, UK who would like to help us create the diorama.
- The dioramas need to be aged/weathered in order to give it as much reality as possible.
-It is very important that the buildings are surrounded with dense foliage or the background is blocked by a rock face etc. in order to make it easier for us to film more angles.
-We are looking to achieve something like the below images on a 1:150 scale or 1:100
If you are interested, please PM me and I will send you a more detailed outline of the project.
-I apologise if this is not the right forum board to add this message but thought it may be a fun (non-mini) project that you could get involved in.

I am looking to find out the day rate for people or how much they'd charge to create each diorama. (6 in total) If interested, I can email you the design brief which has alot more details?

Might get more attention for this if moved to general dakka discussions or the P&M section?

I will move this to Painting and Modelling.
One tip is that there are various Japanese models of temples, castles and so on available on Hobby Link Japan.

Straightaway I think of Oshiro, though I don't know if they're around the London area or not. I do know that they were in London in April, along with their crazygood Japanese village game table, at the Salute trade show. Do a google image search for 'Oshiro Salute 2014'.

True enough. I would probably say that hitting up the UK based model train forums to find some Japanese ex-pats who are into model railroads. There are dozens of architectural models in a variety of scales that cover everything from small shrines to full on temple complexes. 1:150 is spot on for Japanese N-Scale railroads too - so, you might have several ready made options.

Thanks for helping me find a better place to put this thread!

I have taken your advice and contacted Oshiro to see if they know of anyone who could point me in the right direction.

Its funny you say that, as the train modellers pointed me to the wargamers! However, the train forums have been very helpful as well. Especially http://www.jnsforum.com/ And http://www.modelrailwayforum.co.uk/
Woody Joe has also been mentioned...

Vermis- Thanks for the google image suggestion.
If I could combine Oshiro's buildings with some lush vegetation like this image taken from the JNS train forum, then I'll be onto a winner!
