Took a break, trying to re-learn tactica.

Got excited about Seer Council + Baron Beastmaster Deathstar lists to learn they were nerfed in the latest DE Dex.

Are there any other Eldar or Eldar/Dark Eldar Death Star's that are broken in 7th? Is there any Eldar build devoid of spamming wave serpents that one can employ?

You can still run those deathstars, only now, you bring in Baharroth or the Forgeworld Shadow Spectre Phoenix Lord instead if you want Hit-&-Run for the unit.

Do you not need 2 Farseers to better your chances of getting Fortune?

Yeah, 2 farseers is the standard for a typical Eldar Death Star. My friend also runs Ben Anith, who automatically gets Fortune but is on foot. You can run Eldar allied with iyanden to get 3 HQ's or perhaps even self-ally (kinda depends on the tournament format you will be using).

Unfortunately, you can't have eldar allied with Iyanden, they are the same faction. :(

You'll have to use two CADS, but some tournaments amend this by not allowing 2 CADS, but instead allowing you to use an allied detachment with the same faction as your primary detachment. Such as BAO.

That's why I mentioned that it kinda depends on the tournament format you will be using. A number of formats will let you self-ally and a number of formats treat supplements, even if they are the same faction, as separate.

Doesn't the FW farseer have to roll for his powers?

Fortune is nice, but Invis is at least equal, if not better. Possible to get both, but unlikely. So, effectively, a lot of factions have Fortune-equivelents now.

And spamming powers in 7th is harder than 6th (at least for Eldar).

And ObSec troops can't be contested by the HQs flatting out of the Beaststar at the end of the game.

Eldar just don't do Beaststars the same.

One tactic I've heard of is WWP SW Archon in a Scytheguard unit. 2++ t6 is bad enough, but it lasts until end of phase, not just until the first failure. So shooting is boned. And assaulting 10 Scytheguard.... Yowsa. Add in psykic powers *on top*, and you can place that bubble anywhere. Points heavy and slow, but deadly and sturdy.

The FW farseer comes with fixed powers. I believe it is Guide, Doom and Fortune (I'm sure Fortune is included).

Then you've got the "other" farseer to go for powers like Invisibility or Shrouding if you want.

As for spamming powers, you really don't need to do that. Say you run a 10-man jetseer council. I'd go with 1/3 of them on the Eldar powers, maybe 1/3 on Daemon Summoning powers, and 1/3 on Santic powers (for powers like +1 Inv, Hammerhand, etc.).

Davu and such may be the core of 'competative' lists, but in less competative metas, you can usually throw down just about any assortment of Eldar units and have fun. Not a fan of Davu, death stars, WKs, or bringing my own allies myself, but I still enjoy playing Eldar. Last game I assaulted Orks more than the Orks assaulted me, and it was a blast!
