Buttons Should Be Brass, Not Gold!

Thought I would try and do the Rubicon 28mm Panther in winter camo Xmas...
Base colours...
First attack with paint...
...and the real life inspiration...

I never cared for this camo scheme but for what it is it's well executed.

The Rubicon Panther seems to have come up well. Nice work on the camo scheme, although it's perhaps a bit busy. Seeing how you've done it made me realise how elaborate this scheme is - you wonder what the crews did to mask off such large areas when they applied the white camo.
Are you planning to paint any more Rubicon models for PSC? I'd love to see your take on their Tiger, or their M4A3.

To be fair its not a bad kit.
Its missing a tow cable, thats annoying, and a steel rimmed wheel may have been an interesting option for an Ausf. G kit.
So far my very minor issues are, the mantlet top guard doesnt sit right and is too thick. Id probably scratchbuild one if it was my Panther. Also the muzzle brake seems a teeny bit oversized. But minor Iissues so far.

The gun barrel is also a bit thin - it tapers off too much. I've since bought the Warlord Panther Ausf A, and so far I think it's superior to Rubicon's Ausf A/D kit as a wargaming model (I haven't put the tracks on yet, however, and I prefer Rubicon's approach to simplified running gear).
Rubicon's Tiger I is a very nice kit to build. It has a couple of very minor detail issues, but I'd like to see you paint one up.

My post in this thread seems to have disappeared. Erm, hang on. Is this the same model as the one here?
