Hi there

So, we all know how annoying it is when someone posts a mega-large image in a thread, thus forcing the thread to be that size. Handily, most of our browsers resize down to accommodate.

However, this doesn't happen on iPads. If there's one huge image on the page, the page is resized to the width of the image, which sets the width of the text lines, requiring you to zoom in and scroll back and forth along each line of text to be able to read it.

Is there a way the site can detect tablets and phones and auto-resize all images to 'smallish'? Or is there a way that we can set this as a preference, like when we set which site colour scheme we like?

Ian

As an example, this is the current thread resized by my iPad's browser. Text legible, and the header bar is resizing to fit my screen. Images from Safari on iPad Mini

Then, on a random other thread, this happens! Header bar too small and text tiny, and requires zooming in then tracking back and forth to read.

All because, further down the thread, someone has posted this at full width. This isn't even a very big image, and the issue can be much worse.

Inside your mind, corrupting the pathways

My tablet is all over the place in some threads, even without images text size can appear significantly different between posts. This is then compounded with large images as noted above

On Chrome on a Nexus 7.
