Warlord posted up some mock ups of new 28mm Panzergrenadiers with zeltbahns and the like. They are making me salivate hard.

They're nice. I'd cut them with the "Late war" infantry kit myself for a more authentic vibe but as they stand they're cool. I'm glad we finally get an MG gunner's pouch.

For sure. "kit-bashing" multi part plastics is something I seriously miss from my 40k days. I like the current plastic Germans but I miss some of the extra smocks and such. I wonder when these will be released. How long was the delay between German Pioneer mock ups and release?

I do wonder how compatible the two will be, as the late war German plastics is their first Bolt Action plastic kit and it does show its age in comparison to kits they released more recently.

The guy with MG42 must be short.

Warlord Games stuff is all hero scale, oversized heads, oversized hands, oversized guns.

Hmmm, maybe, don't you reckon the K98 looks a bit oversized too? Not in length so much but in girth.

He's leaning at an angle. If you measure the MG42 against him from his right leg, it doesn't even reach his neck.

Nah sorry he aint leaning that much, its slightly oversized. Unless the guys are all modelled as 5'.

Given an MG42 us 44" long, well below his arm pit would be right.

The original German soldier box rifles 98ks are a constant threat of snapping since they're so thin. I'd be happy with a little sturdier armament.

I'm from the future. The future of space

While I do tend to buy realistically proportioned miniatures, I do think that in 28mm there's a traditional charm to the heroic proportions that lots of people like. It's sort of like making the game be like a WW2 comic book rather than a movie. Not my cup of tea, but I'm glad warlord is making them for those who like them. At the very least people migrating from fantasy/sci-fi where it is often the norm will feel at home.

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better.

The dude is not straight legged leaning, either, so is again taller than he appears.
