A few years ago I painted a whole boatload of Infinity models for a commission. It was lovely, and I've gone on and on about how they were some of the best models I've ever painted.

So, I got a Yu-Jing Imperial Sectorial pack for Krimpus, and I was really looking forward to clearing my work bench and painting these guys.. Except they suck. Horribly. Not as bad as the Khador Rifle Corps or the Mantic Goblin Spitters, but pretty prettyyyy pretty bad. Crazy flash everywhere (some covering significant areas of detail), mold lines mold lines MOLD LINES, and not a single model in the box had a single piece of equipment that could be dry fit without a gap.

Anyone ever contact Corvus Belli's customer service? I know they come here occasionally, and I'm really hoping I just got a bad batch. I actually like these guys a lot, but I used to really like Mantic until I sent them five separate requests for my horrible Goblin Spitters (never did receive an email... guess who never gets my money again?). The difference between Mantic and CB is that I have ACTUALLY SEEN amazing models from these guys and the quality of everything this company does is of a higher caliber.

You can get directly in touch with them, quote the batch number you got with the box. Believe there are details of whom to contact on the CB website?

I've got hundreds of pounds-worth of miniatures and never had a single one that was even slightly miscast beyond the standard bit of flash, think you must have been very unfortunate.

That is really what I'm hoping for. I started to hack off all the offending bits, then realized I didn't want to do it for all of them if I needed to return them.

CB are on holiday (pshh) and I have the codes that came with the box. Should be fine.

WWeeeelp, after checking this out: http://penofpenemue.blogspot.ca/2012/10/unpacking-yu-jing-imperial-service.html

It looks like I just picked a terrible box, and they're not miscast. Going to the swap shop!

While I'm not sure what you see in that photo as being terrible, I have seen a decent number of shoddily casted models for Infinity. Out of, oh...45, 50? minis, I've had four or five with disfigured faces. Additionally, the CSU from O:I was so covered in flash it looked like she had tried to disembody herself by oozing through the mold halves. Now, I'm usually OK with filling, fitting and fixing(or ignoring...being lazy), but I wouldn't expect others to be that way. My one request for missing bits was answered and shipped within a couple days, so I'm happy to report that. Also, barring my miscasts, the other minis I have were a pleasure to prep: nary a bit of flash or shrinkage.

I guess my point being it's largely more 'hit' than 'miss' when it comes to CB's quality. I hope with their increased workload of late that that quality doesn't nosedive. I really don't expect it to, but...ya never know.

Gathering the Informations.

That was an issue even before this "increased workload".

It just gets covered up a lot in the promotional shots of the models because Angel is amazing.

Don't believe me? Ask someone about the Asura with MULTI Rifle from the ALEPH starter.

Uggg that stupid mold line that runs down her face and along her body. I actually had them replace my first, got back another with a slightly better mold.

Just to offer an opposing view, I've got nearly (edit probably more like) 70 Infinity miniatures between Haqqislam and Tohaa, covering light, medium and heavy infantry to light 'vehicles' (remotes and bikes) to TAGs (3 of them), from first edition models to very recent releases, standard releases to promo figures. I've needed to use their return service twice. One for my Maghariba Guard when a part was missing, the other for the Gorgos with a cable that didn't actually fit where it was meant to go. In the end the replacement was the same size, so I chalked it up to simply being a badly fitting part, snipped a bit off the other cable and it now fits.

So out of roughly 70 miniatures, one had a part I would consider miscast. The rest didn't even have what I would call excessive flash. I guess I've been lucky?

The Haqqislam I painted for a friend were the most gorgeous models I've ever prepped or painted.

Not sure my count on minis, but my most memorable miscast was the female metro, she was missing a sizable porting of her lower back that nothing short of some greenstuff work would ever correct. I probably have a few others I need to return, but most I just hunker down with a small fine file and fix them.

The only miscast I've had was the fusiler with goggles in the older PanO starter. The head was a blob. I snipped it off and replaced it with a suitable sized head.

Other than that, the box of haramaki I got was missing ALL of the heads - but otherwise fine. The heads turned up aftet I emailed them.

When I got a Posthumans box, one of the Mk1 legs had a miscast butt and a miscast purse.

Spoiler:

I contacted CB via email and sent them that image. They accomodated very quickly and sent the necessary pieces straight from Spain. Wonderful customer service.

It's weird. I still have not received a response about this from CB. I went ahead and traded the models (don't worry, the person saw pics and thought it was cool), but I thought I would have heard something by now.

My guess is that they will still respond sooner than Mantic. PP would show up at your house to hand-deliver and give you a backrub.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
what i mean to say is, I'll probably give Infinity another chance at some point....... When they aren't so over-worked. I love reading the N3 Rules though.

I've contacted them yesterday. An hour later, I've received a replay, it said they're going to send the missing part.

Odd..

They are likely frantic from the workload and resulting kerfluffle the new edition caused to be sure. The extended holiday probably doesn't help matters. From others' reports though, they are usually quick to respond(as was my experience)...or repeated messaging is the only way to eventually get ahold of them, depending who is asked.

Good luck guessing when in the future they won't be 'over-worked'.
