So I just got the Stormclaw box and I'm quite happy with the models that the Ork half gives, but at the same time find it lacking..

Bolstering my forces, I've thought about revolving it around a Gork/Morkanaut.. What do the long-time Ork players think about this?

What are the pros/cons of Gorkanaut/Morkanaut and how will I go about starting an army around them?

My opinion for the gork and mork is the mork allows you to take a kkffand the grit riggers which is huge. Most of the time if someone has a gork they have it side by side a mork for a 5+ invulnerable

whoever is doing this is cheating you, because the new KFF rules state that you have to be completely under the KFF to get the bonus. If a squad of 10 can only fit 8 under it, then only 8 get it, If a vehicle is less than half under it (extremely hard with 2 flying based models, unless they are butt to front) then he dosent get the bonus.

warhammer 40k mmo. If I can drive an ork trukk into the back of a space marine dread and explode in a fireball of epic, I can die happy!

We're certainly not long-time Ork army players or experts. But wanted to quickly post since we have tried what you mention with mixed results.

Playing in a progressive league - we did pretty well pre-Morkanaut. Got worse as we added high point models.

Posted here about it and got some great suggestions and advice pointing toward lower point models and more of them. Point was made that we didn't have very good balance and that single shots were wiping out lots of points.

Here is our blog post link if you want to check out our attempts with a Morkanaut and Stompa.

I don't believe you have to have a majority of a vehicle covered by the KFF bubble. If even just the very corner of the vehicle is within 6 inches, they get the save. KFF doesn't care how MUCH of a model is covered, just that the bubble touches that model. As silly as it is.

As for my opinion:

Morkanaught definitely seems to be the way to go, because that KFF is so enticing. It's how I built mine, and it does wonders. The unit itself doesn't do as much damage as I'd like, though it does wonders when it comes to attracting a LOT of gunfire, which most pings off its 13 armor. If it can get into CC, its S10 claw will rip anything it touches to shreds (Except Imperial Knights, who get a SD sword and swing first x.x)

Gorkanaughts don't seem to be terrible, but the lack of KFF makes them the initially inferior version. Their gattler is pretty decent to be fair. 3D6 shots at S6 isn't anything to stick one's nose up at. While some could argue Lootas do this better with S7 shots, they are less reliable and die to a balmy summers breeze. Plus, it still packs that S10 Klaw to cut up anything that isn't infantry. The gattler can be pretty decent at pegging fliers too due to mass of shots. Some are bound to hit!

Thanks for all the tips on Mork/Gorkanauts. Probably getting a Morkanaut myself, that KFF does sound enticing.. Not only that, but it seems like a strong point in a foot slogging army of Boyz Boyz Boyz. Hmmmmmm I guess we'll see how it goes.
