It's something I recently noticed when I happened to line all those models up.
It's not some egregious offense; you can only get so fine doing detailed hands.

BUT its irksome considering we've seen individual fingers in the past

Obviously this is mostly limited to hacker poses.
I assume it's an effort to eliminate the look of hotdog fingers & huge hands. CB isn't afraid to make dainty models to get realistic detail.
Dare I posit that 3D sculpting is also another factor? I know nothing about the process so it's pure speculation.

Anybody else notice this? Will the Vulcan Salute become the new Ragefist/Umbrella Arm?

Is that a natural 21?

Maybe it's because all the hackers have those Minority Report gloves.

Bladerunner2019 - I honestly think it's quite a petty observation, and starting to wonder now if you have some kind of fear of hands or fists, or at the very least an un-healthy pre-occupation with them!

To me pointing this out is kind of like meeting the girl of your dreams; stunning brunette with a 36-24-34, who has just finished her day's work modelling underwear and will surprise you that evening with tickets so you can go together to Comicon, but then telling her to get lost because you can't get over the mole on her left cheek.

Seriously though, normally the sculptors are pretty careful about this kind of thing. I'm thinking of the original Penthouse on bike model, where she has two fingers hovering over the front brake, and the others on the throttle. They obviously think about such things, as Absolutionis says, it's most likely to represent hacking or some kind of haptic/user interface that the individual sees through their HUD?

Well, as long as it doesnt become a habit for the designers. Then we'd only have two factions left in the end: Ragefists vs Flipper Hands.

Iirc it's because individual fingers were too flimsy and bended and broke easily, nothing as esoteric as wizardry or the mistycal powers of the ragefist

Yeah, I'd have to go with individual fingers being pretty fragile. I was terrified when I was cleaning Cordelias fingers in the 'V for victory' sign of flash.

While CB make some fantastic models, it's worth remembering their primary function is as a gaming piece, and they get dropped. Two slightly bulkier fingers together will hold up better than flimsy individual fingers.
