Okay, now, so I have a couple of questions regarding the construction of long-term fortresses like the Monestaries of the Astartes. My first question is: would it be more effective to make walls of some kind of blank-crete or some kind of metal? Also, what sort of flooring would be best for a 40k fortress, wood or stone?

To quote a fictional character... "Let's make this fun!"

There was a story in the SM omnibus where a single kroot killed 2-3 marines then ate their gene seed and became a Kroot-startes.

We must all join the Kroot-startes...

Probably Ferrocrete. It seems to be a durable material since it comes in item descriptions as being something they can punch through.

Go with whatever you think is more thematic for the setting. I guess logically they would want to use some future alloy of some kind, but who wouldn't want to have an actual stone castle as their fortress.
