Are there any other characters with a rule similar to "Lord of the Monstrous Horde" which lets you take special units (Trolls) as Core?
Please let me know if you know of any, I would be interested to read about them.
Thanks

For what purpose are you asking, just curiosity?
I can't think of any actually, GW seems to be doing away with that kinda thing lately (particularly 40k).

Yeah, im just kinda curious.
I have also noticed too, like for the 40k daemon codex, CSM, Dark Angel, etc. But I don't see much of those in fantasy

It was very popular in 40k up until the start of 7e, lately they've been moving towards alternate detachments instead of changing the slots of things.
I don't know of any off the top of my head in WHFB; the slots are less restrictive, so it wouldn't be quite so necessary.

Old blind eltharion used to make a single unit of swordmasters elites. But this was back in 6th I think. I can't really think of any others besides throgg.

Correct. Ghorros Warhoof makes Centigors count as Core choices, while technically Hellebron used to do the same thing for Witch Elves before the Dark Elf army book was updated last year.

Not to mention Throt the Unclean that makes giant rats and rat ogres count as core (ROs limited tho).
