I was looking through the rules and I noticed something about psychic powers. The psychic test is when you roll dice to get the 4+ so you can manifest the power. In the Chaos Marines codex the spell familiar says reroll failed psychic tests, does this mean reroll the ones that were not 4+ or re roll them all if the power did not manifest and is it worth it to get a spell familiar or is it just asking for Perils.

You reroll a failed result means that when you fail you can try again, which means you roll ALL the dice again. It is absolutely worth buying, one of the best things our Codex has going for it. Buy it on every sorcerer and daemon prince you take! EDIT: On the note you said about perils, if you perils, you still pass the test. You don't get to reroll perils, because its not a fail, its a success!

Abso-freaking-lutely.
For all the people complaining that the chaos dex sucks, it still has some really good gems like this one and the 2+ cover save nurgle flying DP or Chaos Lords making legion units troops, all of which I'll bet will get removed with the next edition of the chaos dex, so I really am not looking forward to it, just looking forward to an updated model range.
anyways, I always prefer a psyker DP as HQ instead of a mere libby, but if youre short on points, and in low point games where you lack the points to get your HQ into the opponent's face, then a ranged cheap libby e.g. leading a squad of cultists to buff their morale is always good.
