So, with a friend I met from a DnD group on the fence about 40k, I've been on a Kill Team Kick lately. The Heralds of Ruin expansion is absolutely phenomenal and my friend thinks Kill Team is just the Bee's Knees.

Anyway, I was trying to work out some scenarios and had an Idea, which is the title of this thread.

So both players have to adhere to a point limit, say 250 since its Kill Team. Player A also has to adhere to the restrictions presented in the HoR Kill Team expansion, but Player B can take anything from any one codex that doesn't go over the point limit, as long as he only brings 2 models. The narrative potential is endless. A full- on squad of GK interceptors facing down a Bloodthirster, or a daemon prince, or a Deathwatch Kill Team assigned to to take down a Tyranid MC.

My first thought was to take 2 Maulerfiends, but that would be stupid because either you would loose automatically because you took a tactical squad and only have 2 weapons capable of penetrating AV12 and one of them is one-use only, or you took full-on melta Sternguard and killed both of them turn 2.

How do we flesh this out more? perhaps if the points were asymmetrical, or the boss player couldn't take vehicles, it would work.

I went to Hershey Park in central PA this year, and I have to say I was more than a little disappointed. I fully expected the entire theme park to be make entirely of chocolate, but no. Here in America, we have "building codes," and some other nonsense about chocolate melting if don't store it someplace kept below room temperature.

Heralds of Ruin does what are effectively org charts defining what models in the existing rules are permitted in their games. I'd suggest just making a bossfight version of that.

Balanced Game: Noun. A game in which all options and choices are worth using.

I think asymmetric points would be a nice touch, making the boss stronger and therefore requiring some careful tactics to kill
