edit: Oh course, my line of thinking is parallel to your thinking when you claimed that LORDEATSALOT was voting against the Guard even though he did not adjust the number. It was an assumption on your part for assuming that's what he intended to do.

I think you're being biased John. We should disregard the last JohnH and Smashotron votes because we were each incorrect and Guard should not (yet) be out due to errors we clearly see.

Emp Faith was actually doing it correctly originally. Stop adjusting the points.

Acrtually, (if Lordeats is ignored) John voted Vostroyans down to 1 and I voted it back up to 2. So (as you did not vote for them) the vote standing should still be 2.

Given that he has a - sign by Vostroyan, and nothing by Eldar, it's more clear that he's voting against Guard than Eldar.

If he marks two - and adjust a number, then the logical conclusion is that he didn't adjust the number correctly. All we have is what he wrote. If he intended to vote Eldar, I would have expected (and accepted) a number change without a mark.

Nope, those votes were validly made, and will not be discarded. We do not go around discarding votes because we don't like them.

As Referee, my decision is as follows:

If LORDEATS amends his vote within the next two votes, I will accept whatever he corrects it two. His choices are:
Vostroyans 3 (one vote total, as numbers)
Vostroyans 2-- (two votes total, as marked)

If LORDEATS does not post, the markings will stand and Vostroyans are OUT.

@Smash: I appreciate your efforts to clarify things. Your immediately preceding post would be the current status if LORDEATS intended to only vote once.

As is, the last valid vote is Smashotron at 20:04 Pacific time.

No, the post has two marks. One vote. There is a mark against the Vostroyans, which is possibly left over from your vote against them in the previous post. Similar mistakes have occured in the past posts on this thread. As focused fire pointed out a few pages back, the rules are that 2 votes MAY be made, not must. Voting against Vostroyans may not have been his intention.

Furthermore, you went BACK and accounted for it. If it had been a previous vote, then it's understandable but you sought it out in an effort to achieve a quick kill against Vostoryans. You interpereted the mark as you saw fit, without any indication from LORDDEATS to help us either way.

This has already occurred before, that case of someone only voting once and/or leaving the old +/-s there but you didn't change THOSE votes because it wouldn't have suited you.

What gives you the right to tell us something is what it is not?

Did you create Super Survivor? If so, where in the rules does it say you can add or subtract to the totals as you see fit?

Where does it say you're the referee? You don't mind if I start up the next Super Survivor and I can be referee, do you? That sounds fair, but I doubt your rules have room for ref rotation when it's just better for you to hold final say.

And you interpereted the problem to suit your own goal which was an end to Vostroyans. If you had corrected it, but refrained from voting, that is entirely acceptable. However you "corrected" for the precise purpose of managing to vote Vostroyans out. It's hardly fair play and certainly a dick move.

@Smash: If nobody caught them until several votes had passed, then there's nothing to correct. Also, in those cases, the other votes are there to clarify the intent.

As the game creator and de facto referee, I take that right.

I created this game that you're playing. The rules don't say anything about how to interpret inconsistent votes. Ergo, it's up to interpretation. As the first person to note it, I claim the right to interpret as I see fit based on the actual marks made.

I'm sorry that I can't babysit this stupid game all the time, and only really pay attention at voting time.

But you're interpreting it in a biased manner (your goal being the end of Vostroyans) hence your not a porper referee. A referee would have corrected the post IF indeed there was anything to correct and left it at that. You corrected the vote so that you could deliver the killing blow. You certainly don't have a right to make that call without waiting for LORDEATS to clarify the matter, and since votes HAD occured past that vote, what was the purpose in pointing it out then other than to weaken Vostoryans?

LORDEATS May have:

1) Meant to cast a single vote for Harlequins and acidentally left the Vostroyan --- mark on from your previous post.

2) May have meant to vote down vostroyans, but as no numbers were changed the validity of such a vote is now in question.

In either case, neither one makes the Vostroyan --- valid.

You are correct. You are the first person on the internet to create a Survivor game. Thank you and your unbelievable benevolence for blessing us here at DakkaDakka with this gift. I did not understand until now.

In all seriousness though, I quit this. I could tell halfway through this thread that it was boiling into a b!tchfest, then all the math started shooting around and a few of you guys got ridiculous.

Do not call this a game. A game is supposed to be fun. You make this experience no fun. I'll go find a Survivor game you're not host, oh, Grand Inventor.

You have said to me many times how you hate the dominance of Imperials in the final seats. I'm pretty sure seeing Vostroyans in the top 3 would sicken you to no end. That said, this is getting out of hand.
