Which ones were awesome? May have missed some, but all I see is that we can take marks (meh) and our characters count as chaos champs (so have to accept and issue challenges and gets EotG) except we can't become Daemon Princes, just Spawns. (wtf?)

Did I miss something else? (I likely did, no caffeine yet.)

I caved and actually bought a Gutrot Spume the other day.

I felt it was a bit overpriced, not having purchased a GW figure new off the rack in years, but I was really impressed by his quality. He's probably going to end up matching my Dark Mariners from ShadowSea, but I'm really happy with the crispness of the details and the depth/ mass he takes up on his base.

I also learned that my local store really is cheaper than ordering online, after comparing the prices of what I saw in store vs online.

Their Glottkin was reasonable enough that I may actually consider buying one, even though I don't play WFB, it just looks like a ridiculously fun model to paint (and that's saying something, as I've never been a Nurgle fan).

Can anyone who's built one tell me just how big that thing is? Thanks!

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

Nah, you pretty much got it. Those changes were little tweaks that are beneficial, and welcome, but not game breaking.

Maybe awesome without any context was overstating it a bit. I was excited to use trolls and such in my Beasties now. The new combo's and stuff that I'm able to take will really change how I play. That's what I meant as awesome.

Red's post will give you a good idea as to how big he is.

One important thing to know is that the two riders are in fact separate...but there are noticeable bits on Ghurk(the big monster) where the other two brothers stand.

Honestly I was just hoping I was missing something. My poor Beastmen need some love. Still, I agree that getting to fit thing like Dragon Ogres or Trolls into the army could help. As much as I love my Minos, they're desperately in need of a rules overhaul (or really just a price adjustment).

Huh, good point. That table is kind of odd.

It is a really fun build too.

I got the Glotkin put together and two layers of base coats and blending on him. Huge model! Even cheating with an army painter primer and lots of layered washes I've got about 8 hours work into him, and a long ways to go with all the detail work, and then onto his two brothers.

The books have really sold great, people are enjoying them. Nagash was slower to start, but as word got out he picked up steam. And I sold a lot of Glotkin this weekend. Happily, I still have both books in stock, and glad I went heavy on ordering them.

....and lo!.....The Age of Sigmar came to an end when Saint Veetock and his hamster legions smote the false Sigmar and destroyed the bubbleverse and lead the true believers back to the Old World.

As far as I know, in my city (Brisbane) the two GW stores and two FLGS that ordered it only got about 11-13 copies overall, and most of those were from preorders.

My local store only got the 4 they pre-ordered, and allegedly they had to fight to get the 4th of four at that.

Interesting. Non of my local store owners (around 5) had any issues with pre-orders. They all did only get only 2-3 non pre-orders for sale though.

Glotkin is quite the glass beast. I played a 1650 game against him the other day. It was just Glotkin, some plaguebearers and some beasts of Nurgle.

The big downside to the new beasties is that they are a bit squishy. Quite a bit squishy. As in, one round of shooting from a pumped up Khalida archer block and one screaming skull catapult was all it took to kill the thing. We then re-rolled against my Tomb Guard and it thoroughly smashed the entire unit with contemptous ease. So I think protective magic will be an absolute necessity for it going forward.

Just spotted this and thought was worth a share cause of how accurate hastings is-

http://www.belloflostsouls.net/2014/11/wfb-end-times-upcoming-models-latest.html
via the venerable (and accurate) 75Hastings69

Regarding future kits for the Warhammer End Times series:

- Plastic vermin lord
- Other Skaven stuff.

Also it's been a long while but iirc there's still some as yet unreleased big kits:

- a big dwarf Warmachine with smashy fists
- a large angry looking statue type thing, possibly of elvish design?

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Alsop this ones not in here i don't think-

http://www.belloflostsouls.net/2014/11/breaking-wfb-endtimes-khaine-is-coming.html

The Elves get their turn with a twist in the upcoming End Times Series for Warhammer Fantasy. Here's the latest:

End Times Rumors 11-9-2014 (Black Library Weekender)

via Warseer's Darnok:
Now what if I tell you that 1.) the Elves ET book will come with no models alongside it and 2.) there will be two more ET books after it?

Volume III: The Curse of Khaine (Scheduled for this year)
Volume IV: Skaven Book
Volume V: Unknown rumored final volume

The big point of contention out there in rumorland is whether or not End Times: Khaine will come with models, or be a book only release. Based on what we've seen before from the End Times series, Army Bundles to represent the listed battle hosts is a given, and both High Elves and Dark Elves have received substantial new kits in their last updates.

But then again, would a model of Khaine himself count as an "Elf Model"?

Would be very disappointing should they not follow that format of coming out with a new unit, 3 new mounted characters, and a big beastie.

Was really looking forward to seeing some awesome Dark Elf stuff...

If nothing else maybe we'll get some "super" Valkia rules?

Why release new-old models which people can choose to buy or not buy depending on if they prefer the newer model, when you can produce new models with new rules which nobody has and therefore may feel more compelled to purchase?

GW strategy is low risk, despite the fact their business has been contracting, I doubt they have the balls to redesign an old model, unless there's something in it for them (such as transitioning materials, which, admittedly, could apply in the case of GDs.)

In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the Glotkin CAD file started life as a new GUO, but someone leant over the designers shoulder and went "No, make it into something different."

The lack of GD is really mind boggling. I'm absolutely certain they would sell extremely well (at least, much better than some of their recent release, like santa logan or the gorka/morkanaut, not to mention the competely unnecessary daemon chariot), since they are iconic to the setting, and they can be used in both fantasy and 40k.

I'm starting to believe than they will never released them in plastic, especially since the glottkin really looks like a GUO, so I doubt they'll make one now.

If the greater demons got larger models that went on one of the newer big bases, it would make people buy the new one. Or have to put their older smaller models on one of the new big bases.

The GD's would need new rules to compensate for bigger models throw.

The other option is, make them muti-kits and have a new named character version of each GD you need to buy the new kit to get.

In all honesty if they did both I would eat that gak right up.

Well, they just added a 90mm round base to 40K, giving a larger size that is not an oval. They could put a new larger daemon on a 90mm round/100mm square and add parts for the named GDs, and sell quite a few I'd imagine.

"Once More Unto the End Times"

Hmmm, We may have hit the end of our three week Tyranid Wave 2 and are headed back to the End Times III. It's said to be focussed on the Elves. To be honest, the holiday season is upon us, so if End Times III is 2-3 weeks like Nagash and Glottkin were, we may be all done with 40K this year.

I could see "Shield of Baal II: the box set" getting a december release to milk the holiday. Otherwise, End Times and then likely Hobbit, with 40K coming back for Blood Angels in January.

Really looking forward to the Skaven book. I haven't pre-ordered any of the End Times stuff yet, and I regret it a bit now that you can't get the books any longer...which, by the way, I think is complete and utter bull-$#!t...I will definitely be pre-ordering the Skaven one.
