Its a cool looking tank, but not a very effective tank for its points cost. Like any superheavy tank, it goes boom to a simple marine with a thunder hammer.

If you dont short hand your list, Im not reading it.
Example: Assault Intercessors- x5 -Thunder hammer and plasma pistol on sgt.
or Assault Terminators 3xTH/SS, 2xLCs
For the love of God, GW, get rid of reroll mechanics. ALL OF THEM!

Everything goes boom one way or another.
I deserve it if i let a marine with a hammer swinging about freely denting armor plates

Thanks for the responses!

A marine with a thunder hammer will not even do 1HP per turn.

3 attacks on the charge, 2 hit, and then glance on a 4 pen on a 5. So mathematically 1 HP will be lost every turn.

Blood angel on the charge with a thunderhammer. Did 7 HP to finish to my glaive a few weeks ago. Note it was undefended and off by itself as a distraction to force my opponent to split his force to deal with it. In that respect it worked great. On the down side, he scattered it away from his guys and the explosion didn't kill anyone.

I brought it because it was a cool looking tank, it did wipe in a single shot a squad of terminators and his BA captain.(he was fielding a small detachment of BA.) But after that first shot I couldn't hit the broadside of a barn or penetrate to save my life. Combined fire from it only did 2 HP to his dreadnought.

Roughly, yes. So perhaps my Not-Even was an understatement, I should've said "roughly".

While possible, this sort of scenario is unlikely.

The expected value of hitting an AV12 Superheavy with a Thunderhammer is 0.48 hull points, but that's really, really skewed by the outlier explodes result. In two thirds of cases a single thunderhammer attack does zip to the tank. On average you're looking at about eighteen Thunderhammer attacks (six of which miss, six more of which fail to wound, four of which do one Hull Point, and two of which do an average of three Hull Points) to down a Fellblade, so one Terminator squad is going to wreck a Fellblade more often than not.

Balanced Game: Noun. A game in which all options and choices are worth using.

One nice thing about the Glaive is that it can do a decent job at hurting super heavies. The Volkite main gun also has the Haywire rule, meaning those D3+1 hits on a SH will almost always translate to an equal number of HP lost.

"You listen to me. While I will admit to a certain cynicism, the fact is that I am a naysayer and hatchetman in the fight against violence. I pride myself in taking a punch and I'll gladly take another because I choose to live my life in the company of Gandhi and King. My concerns are global. I reject absolutely revenge, aggression, and retaliation. The foundation of such a method... is love. I love you Sheriff Truman." - Twin Peaks
