Nemesis Strike Force

Grand Master/ Warlord, Psycannon, LDD, Halberd

2x 5x Termintor Squad PsyCannon, 4x Halberd, 1x Hammer

1x 5x Purifiers 4x Falchion 1x Hammer

2x Dreadknight Heavy Psycannon, Heavy Incinerator, Greater Nemesis Force Sword

Allied Detachment

Librarian lvl 2, melta bombs

5x Bike Squad 2x Grav Gun

Centurion Devastator 4x 3x Grav Cannon, 1x TL LC Omniscope, 4x Missile Launcher (goes with GM and libby)

I'm a Grey Knight player and just got some Centurions and I want to see what all the fuss is about and have some fun, maybe table some people so heres what I've got. I'm going to try the cheesed down version because my friends and I all agree invisibility is not a fair spell, so I wont need Tigerus - just a standard libby to try and roll for some defensive buffs. Also not a big fan of Draigo but if it turns out the cents need his tankiness I'll swap him out for my GM. Most of the additional gear on terms and purifiers is just because I had 30+ points to spend and nothing really that great to spend it on.

The centurions can definitely be all they're cracked up to be, and they're fun to use. The problem is they really do need draigo and at least one ml3 psyker. Otherwise they will get erased, tarpitted, or just not get where they're needed. This means your list composition will be heavily dictated by the unit due to the need for draigo, gk libby and sm hq at a minimum.

I've tried various builds but that's been my experience. Lias issodon can do a decent build but again assaults are an issue especially with no overwatch so you'll need a counter assault unit handy to dig them out of trouble. If you go this route I would take a ml3 libby with liber daemonica and try for GoI then roll any remainder on telepathy/divination hoping for invis although you'll also want prescience.

Just some friendly insight.

Nemesis Strike Force

GK Libby DLD, Warding Stave

2x 5x Termintor Squad PsyCannon, 4x Halberd, 1x Hammer

2x 5x Purifiers 4x Falchion 1x Hammer

2x Dreadknight Heavy Psycannon, Heavy Incinerator, Personal Teleporter, Greater Nemesis Force Sword

Allied Detachment

Librarian lvl 2

5x Scout Camo 5x Snipers

Centurion Devastator 4x 3x Grav Cannon, 1x TL LC Omniscope, 4x Missile Launcher (goes with GK Libby and SM libby)

K so I reworked it a bit to include a libby over a GM and used the additional points to swap bikes for scouts and ad another 5 man purifier. Like I said in the first post invisibility is off the table with my group unless it's torney play in which case I would just drop 1 purifier squad and ad draigo tiggy. Think this is better?

It's better in that you have guaranteed Gate. Plus draigo is draigo. If you have a gentlemen's agreement against invisibility then roll straight divination it's amazing for cents. I was going to recommend 3 cents but without invis I'm not sure how durable the unit would be at that size.

I would suggest losing the missiles btw. Hurricane bolters are great against everything grav isn't and missiles are lack luster against armour. The only exception might be the serg for split fire.

Scouts I would leave with bolters. The snipers are straight underwhelming.

Lastly one compromise on invisibility might be to make opponents ws/bs 1 rather than snap shots. It's a huge nerf for those who aren't prepared. Otoh anyone prepared for a competitive scene will have methods for dealing with invis as is.

I'd add in draigo for the automatic gate so that you are constantly keeping those grab cannons in range. Powers that you will want are prescience, sanctuary, fore...warning? 4+ invuln from divination, and endurance. You can get sanctuary from stern. Then you use the gk lib on divination and the sm lib on biomancy.

Also, I think you'll be very disappointed with foot slogging purifiers. I suggest removing them to make room for stern/draigo/ml3 go lib and teleport packs on the dread knights for that 12" move and 30" late game objective shunt.

purifiers are deep striking - NFS formation. Thanks for pointing that out. The personal teleporters are included in my points I just didnt list them.

I'm pretty sure purifiers can't deep strike even as part as a NFS, but i'll gladly be proved wrong.

They can't. NSF doesn't give deep strike to the formation.

This List is close to what i sometimes run when i am not running Sternguard in a drop pod. Only difference is i don't run Purifiers, i run a 10man interceptor squad with flamers.

do strike squads have deep strike?

That's got to be a misprint...why would purifiers not have DS but Strike Squads do - They are wearing the same armor and it's a teleport. Literally every infantry modle in the army has deep strike except purifiers? I never noticed this because I usually don't play purifiers unless they are in a storm raven.

It's not a misprint. That's how it worked last codex too. No one really knows why they did this.

i guess trying to sell storm ravens. Well clearly this list wont work now...gonna have to try something else instead of those purifiers. Maybe sterngard in a pod.

Many have tried allying in Space Wolves or Blood Angels with Fast Attack drop pods for purifiers to ride in. I haven't tried it myself.

Ya they're not. Not IMO anyway. Purifiers are a weird animal. They look fantastic on paper but in game they are frustrating with the amount of hoops you gotta jump through.

I've tried ravens, GoI, bunker with escape hatch and mechanized which I actually feel might be the best way, but in that case its an all-in kinda strategy.

They make great warp charge batteries and 5 bare in a raven isn't the worst thing you can do with 125 pts. Still I have since moved on from purifiers. Just too much work to make them work.
