So a while back I did a long (LONG!) peice on civilian vehicles in 40k both to flesh out some ideas I had on daily life in the Imperium and because I'm always disappointed to see these incredible cityscapes that are devoid of vehicles.

See it here:

http://www.dakkadakka.com/wiki/en/Civilian_vehicles_in_40k

TL/DR version - the Imperium will be like the Soviet Union (or current North Korea), there's buses, trucks and trains but few private cars. Cars afterall are expensive, resource intensive, vehicles that give the owners privacy and freedom. And why would the Imperium want anyone to have that? The upper class gets chaufeered limos of course, and madder things still.

Then most of the article is about finding suitable models that don't look like 21st century cars with skulls glued to them.

Since I wrote it there has been and EXPLOSION of new model lines and options so it's a good time for an update. No least of which is the Taurox. Once you get rid of the laughable tracks it's actually a very good basis for a 40k truck.

Things like this make for great terrain, ojectives or 'counts as' rhinos and Chimeras for Imperial armies.

I'm looking for suggestions on what to change and what to add, here are some of the things I've found:

Dystopian Legions (freaky steampunk vehicles in resic):

Perry Brothers WWII (two great Italian trucks that look perfect for 40k)

Bolt action (more WWII trucks and armored cars)

Mongoose Judge Dredd (Holy #$%^ing crap I need this car)

Any other good lines out there I should plug?

Any other suggestions?

It is judge dredd and looks like it is made out of a personal hygiene bottle so it has the rogue trader aesthetic!

I think the scratch built land speeder tutorial of that era's white dwarf also included pictures of other scratch builds by the team back then. It might be worth trying to get a look at that?

They're all too small. How do you transport the hundred-meter-long torpedoes that take thousands of serfs with pulleys to load?

You swtich to epic!

Yeah even an 18-wheeler is much much too big for 40k, to say nothing of mile-long cargo trains and mining rigs the size of small cities. You do what you can do.

Now I kind of want to make a gaming table that's set on a mile-long cargo train. If you're too close to the sides you might get whacked by giant tree branches zooming past and the engine's exhaust gives the whole table Shrouded. And if you miss you might set off some munitions on the train and blow people up.

I should add the various Wild West Exodus vehicles to the mix too.

A lot of them have too many big guns strapped on, but they look easy enough to remove or leave off.
