This week I am playing my first game of Infinity. I am hoping the operation icestorm box arrives at the store in time, but if not I'll pick a random faction so I don't have duplicates.

Main I am thinking Pan'O. I love the Knights and the Jotum. Once I play I'll post my thoughts. Any suggestions for a noob?

Start small The icestorm box is a great start, just don't try to jump into 300pts to quick.

100pts is what we are running.

Yeah definitely small and go slow.

See if any others in your area might be interested in starting an escalation league, where everyone buys (usually) a starter and maybe an extra model or two to make 150 point list. You get together every week or two and play games, and then every 3 weeks or a month you up the total by 50 points until you're all playing 300 point matches.

i love when people say start small in infinity...lol, makes me chuckle.

Most people take 10 models! even at 300pts, i think closer to 20 for some armies might happen due to the reductions though....but thats bloody small!

I do agree in "starting small" with all the rules, there is alot of stuff which is what gives it the great skirmish feel.

Learning all the bloody shenanigians you can do with the movement skill alone takes me to new heights each day. Learned this weekend you can go prone and move in the same skill you just have to go prone at the beginning, which is cool!

I also learend how AWESOME coordinated orders are to set up suppressive fire! so order efficient!!

Learning it by playing Icestorm will help you - as it adds models and rules step by step.

You won't get many knights in 100pts, though - but that's where their order sgts come in.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.
