I have looked over the rules, but might have missed it. Is there a rule preventing it?

At the risk of asking a silly question, what is linking?

It took me a good bit of head scratching, and I think what you meant to type was "Jinking"
Does that sound about right? And the answer as far as I'm aware is yes. It's kind of silly, but there is no rule saying you can't jink while immobilized.

I remember it being explicitly mentioned at a few major GT's that it is not allowed, such specific clarification infers RAW in the BRB it is not NOT allowed. (Note the double negative)

Jinking makes no distinction as to whether the vehicle is immobilised or not. Some GTs have houseruled it that an immobilised skimmer cannot jink.

As above Jinking has no qualifier that it is not possible whilst immobilised. It used to in 6th Ed, but they removed that in 7th so I assume that was intentional. Yes some TOs make up their own rules.

There's no rule that says they can't. But here's how it was explained to me. The grav fields holding it up are still active, just the thrusters are out. So the crew gets out, and shoves it really hard whenever they see a missile coming for it.
