in the codex the terminator assault squad has 2 attacks, in part (or wholly) because of their 2 lightening claws. If you chose to exchange their lightening claws for a Thunder Hammer and Storm Shield does their Attack get reduced to 1 as a result of the Specialist Weapon rule? dsf

No, they have 2 base attacks as has every other SM Veteran (Tac Terminator Squad, Sternguard, Vanguard).
With LCs, they have 3 attacks.

Unless specified, bonus attacks from weapons are not represented in a model's profile. so an assault termi with lighting claws would have 3 attacks and THSS would be 2A

What are "lightening claws" ?

Are they claws that make things less dark than they were before (Or less heavy than they were before)?

Or did you mean Lightning Claws?

It's not like we may get nervous about posting something publicly that we have typed up. Well now I have checked this via word several times I do hope that this all spelt correctly for you! Oh of course it only knows if the word, is spelt incorrectly and not if we have used the wrong word. Silly me.

Back on topic, as everyone else has stated 2 is the number of attacks base. So with a pair of Lightening Claws (see what I did there DeathReaper, of course you did) you get 3, making 4 on the charge. So fielding them with a Chaplin is always nice.
