What are yall's thoughts? I quite like them, as when they are upgraded to ML 2 they have a pretty high chance of getting the 12" move power. And when they do get the power, its going to be an absolute pain to deal with, as its AV 13, and flying at your opponent 18"+run per turn. If nothing else, it takes the heavy fire off your other units for a while and makes your opponent scramble.

I do drugs.
Mostly Plastic Crack, but I do dabble in Cardboard Cocaine.

I think they're a fun and cool unit, and 1 game out of 6 you'll roll wings, shield, and get all that+quickening off in a single turn and annihilate a unit of thunderwolves or carnifexes before they can even think about swinging, but most of the time you'll either drop in with a pod and get slagged by melta guns or footslog slowly across the board and contribute little to the fight.

I would love to be proven wrong on this and see a list that takes advantage of double libby dreads, but from what ive seen they are a fun and decently strong option, though outclassed by other things in the HQ slot.

Wings specifically says it only targets Infantry, which kind of kills the "flying dreadnought of pain" fun. :/

Oh thats super lame.

Well, rage+quickening is still pretty good. 4+d3 attacks on the charge at str10 ap2 instant death seems ok XD

The one application where they're pretty good is in taking down multiwound MCs - that force halberd is strong.

Having AV13 front armor is pretty nice - you'll want to have him in the thick of it if so he can cast blessings on friendly units. Divination and Sanguinary seem like okay choices, though Divination has a couple of "targets the Psyker's unit" powers that don't translate well. Biomancy and Pyromancy are a waste.

I don't like him as a warlord choice, since he has to choose from the sub-par BA traits, and also he's difficult to keep alive. An infantry warlord is pretty easy to hide if he gets down to 1W; a dreadnought is not easy to hide, and so he's going to get shot at all game long.

My feeling is that he's usable, but not competitive.

I disagree that BA warlord traits are sub par. Some, like +1 init and master crafted are bad, yeah. But rampage is ok, adamantium will is fine in certain circumstances, and a 12 inch fearless bubble or descent of angels are awesome.

He is quite competitive in a dropnaught list. Also. I for one personally love the BA warlord traits. The only one that is lack luster IMO is the 6th one. I mean, furioso lib with +1 I? Rage? Yes please on either.
