Food for a Giant Fenrisian Wolf

I'm playing SW with 2 units of TWC, 2x4 LF firing from behind.
What i am not sure about is weather it is better to run 3x5 WG with combi-weapons - all in DP - or paying the troop tax with 2x5 GH in DP and spend the pts (315) in something diffrent in a DP (280 pts for for a well equiped WG could be funny).
I think a deathstar and 2 `naked“ units can't be that effective than 3 armor penetrating units which can fire at diffrent targets.
I'm facing a Farsight Tau list - a lot of 2+ armor saves. After firing my combi weapons even my Guard can't do more then holding an objective.
Do you have any thoughts towards his problem? How do you build your list around the TWC? I guess Drop Pods are pretty cool, but I don't know how to fill them.

I think you mean lots of 3+ saves as Crisis suits have a 3+ armour.
Only Riptides, Broadsides and the Iridium armour are 2+.

i would think TWC would be somewhat wasted on TAU.
They are very very killy in assault, but against anything non riptide you only need to be a little killy.
Your opponent is going to deny cover, and fire a bunch of ap2-3 shots at your TWC and hurt/kill them very effeciently. They cost a lot, and TBH are easy for tau to kill.
If you do assault with them, you will most likely completely crush what you assault the same turn, leaving you to be shot at again next turn.
I would try to take a couple of fenrisian wolf packs if you can. bury an IP with thunderhammer on wolf with cyberwolves or just more wolves in the fenrisian wolves.
Use two units like the above to support the TWC, that way you cross the table quickly, put the TWC on things that are major threats, like riptides/broadsides/markerdrones, and the wolf packs swarm whatever and kill/hold things up in assault so they cannot shoot.

TWC are amazing vs shooty armies, they are T5, and can have 3++ and are two wounds. It is amazing vs tau. take a unit of 5, give 3-5 Storm shields, and the sgt a power weapon. enjoy. hell, take two units 4-5 of them for saturation and enjoy.

40 pts each + equip and at least 3 of them. I like to run em with
2x WC/SS
1-2x WC/PF
for 235-320 pts.

i dont play sw (i go for orks), but when it comes to quantity vrs quality i have found out some helpfull things.
more squads and larger mobs covering the board make it harder for units that deepstrike, they just have so little room to come in without misshap (i ounce forced a tau battlesuit commander squad to misshap since he dropped right onto some widespread boyz.
aditional bonus of quantity is objective camping. if you are doing maelstrom, numbers matter, since that is the best way of ogjecyive camping and getting those butloads of victory points.
just my opnion.
