I'm slowing creeping towards having a good collection of Dark Angels.
About 20 Terminators, 20 Tacticals and Scouts, ~25 Bikes and several vehicles line the free spaces of my hobby room.
While there is still work to be done in painting and definately some more models to add, I'm starting to even more slowly set my eye on my next army.

I usually don't look that closely at the power level of an army (heck, I started with pure Deathwing...) and build fluffy TAC armies.

Since I run DA, I have no desire to build another Power Armored Army.
I'm leaning towards non-IoM, but Guard isn't out of the question.
So far, my favorites I look into in detail are Demons, Necrons, Guard and Nids, and this is where stuff gets difficult.
Don't get me started on Eldar. No elves of any kind on my turf!
Tau just don't appeal to me.
Orkz are da funniezt, but getting them right with conversions is out of my league for now.

Nids over totally different playstyles than anything I could do now.
MC's peak my interest game and fluffwise, also some Horde-Style armies are interesting.
They're totally different to paint which is a challenge in itself, but that also brings it's own merits.
I'm not too sure on some of the models though... Gripping weapons and, for some reason, their faces put me off with those pen-like teeth. More snouts, round shaped maws or tentacles would be more interesting...
Also, something in the fluff is somewhat odd for me.. Well, mostly because I tend to be the "good guy" whenever I can (still didn't manage to play Dragon Age: orginis as a bad guy. Just couldn't.)

Necrons are a bit nebulous. They have their own appeal, but I confess I know little about them. With the new 'dex about to be released I also think it is best not to form a oppinion on these ones just yet.
Fluff and crunch are good as far as I'm aware (and you can count on be giggling madly when they stand back up), but yet again, I am at odds with some of the visuals on their vehicles. Too open and too much like chairs for the Necrons.

Chaos Demons are also somewhat of a mystery. The intriguing thing here is the versality of the army... While I'd stay clear of Nurgle (aesthetic justt doesn't sit well with me), Tzeentchian and Khornate armies have a certain lure.
While I'm aware of their fluff, the crunch is also rather unknown to me. I also fear I have to tread the CSM/CD route which I don'T really want to do since my pal plays CSM himself. Also - more PA.

And, last but not least, the good ol' Guard (I really cannot bring myself to call them that Militarum thing.. I'm too old to learn new tricks!).
Different in playstyle, versatile and would make good allies for my main army unlike none of the 3 above which would make playing them and incorporating the first 500 something points easy and rewarding. Also would open up Inquisition and Assassines as allie (I tend to go pure with my DA's).
But it is IoM.

Well, one definite advantage from thinking about expanding is realising I landed spot on on the army that seems to be the most appealing to me, in terms of visuals, fluff, models and playstyle

I can speak for Daemons.

1. I was also put off by the aesthetic (or lack thereof) of Nurgle. I've ended up with 20 plaguebearers for objective camping (a modest investment) and have painted my Soul Grinders green and called them Nurgle Grinders without adding anything gross. They are a great addition to my army and round out my force well.

2. Khorne's crunch is underwhelming. I keep a unit of Bloodcrushers (elite cavalry) in play for fast moving I5 AP3 (for clearing pesky tac squads off objectives) but his infantry always seem to get shot off the table before getting to the fight. Bloodthirsters have done well for me as FMC HQs.

3. Tzeentch's crunch is great. Kairos Fateweaver kicks ass as a psyker and warlord (ML 4, grants warp storm table rerolls along with any D6 of choice every turn). Screamerstar (2++ rerollable jet bikes with up to 4 ML 3 psykers) is one of the more competitive builds out there and Daemonology spam is viable and deadly with Tzeentch infantry providing warp charges and tanking occasional perils rolls.

4. Army wide 5++ is a great alternative to boring power armor saves. For some reason I seem to be better at rolling Daemon saves than CSM armor saves...

5. I find I can do well without CSM allies but the occasional user of CSM mixes things up. You could use your DA as stand ins for CSM if you ever want to try the combination.
