So, recently, I swung by my recent hobby store to pick up a Herald of Tzeench on Disc at my local hobby store (given that the GW is 1/2 an hour away and I only go there for the monthly team tournament, which will be relevant). However, they did not have the Herald on Disc, so I got the Chariot. Now, the disc part of the chariot is actually compatible with the flying base, so I glued it onto a spare that I had lying around so that it'd be the same as the normal one. It actually looks pretty nice, but I am worried that GW is going to call it a proxy at the Upcoming Team Tournament. Does anybody know their policy in depth enough to know if it would be a proxy, due to not being the actual kit, or if it would count, due to having a herald of tzeentch on it?

If you're at a GW-sanctioned event the bars are 1) WYSIWYG 2) Same form factor as the original 3) All parts you bought from GW. You ought to be fine.

Balanced Game: Noun. A game in which all options and choices are worth using.

It's fine. The main issue they have are non-gw models are gw based events and then it's still best to ask the TO if you're unsure.

Wouldnt be a bad idea to play a game there using it beforehand and show it about a little bit (provided your not planning to use it as a surprise to opponents of course) and ask the TO your question in casual conversation.

You should be fine, my friend made a sorcerer on disc conversion using the inner disc of the chariot and has had no problems in GWs.

heck my local GW place enchourages us to do kitbashes using GW parts. if I buy a box of grey knights, and an assault terminator box to kit base a "awesome looking terminator captain" I've just bought 2 boxes instead of a finecast blisterpack after all

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

This was a long time ago (9-10 years) so...take with a grain of salt, but I was told by a GW manager that the model has to be at least 75% GW product, and 3 minimum colors on model and based, for tournaments. As long as the model is entirely GW and appropriately based they won't say a thing I'd think.
