How would you represent blood ravens, would you use grey knights or warriors with 2 librarians and a couple psyker inquisitors? With the grey knights i was thinking of kit bashing grey knights with normal space marines. A problem with the librarians i see is that they can't take invulnerable saves and if they take terminator armour to get them, they cancel out some of the mantis warrior chapter tactics.

libs don't have invulns in BR anyway, IMO, take a captain and a lib.

(honestly, I would use tiggy, just "name" him something else)

after that, they are pretty much a normal chapter that somehow "acquires" relics of other chapters.

Why would you think that grey knights make a good stand in for a perfectly normal (comparatively) chapter? Just use normal space marines, and give them chapter tactics you feel are appropriate.

Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment.

Id been thinking of a Thousand sons loyalist chapter a year ago, but didnt follow it through.
The idea went as followed:
-Red scorpion tac marines, the apothecary representing a psyker who could errect a psychic shield for his squad.
-Loth (named something else) because he is, alongside tiggy, the best psyker SMs have to offer.
-LotD representing psychic covens of marines who could errect stronger shields than their bretheren (3++), could teleport (DS), and had 'perfect timing' all the time (ignores cover).
-Tiggy allied in for another powerful psyker.
-Another libby as the second Red Scorps HQ.

Ravens are supposed to (maybe) be a TS decendent chapter, but I don't think they are as far psychically gifted as I was going to push it.

That sounds really cool. Even cooler would be seeing LotD on the field that look like they get their powers from Psychic badassery, and not by being Ghost Rider. Never really been a fan of LotD aesthetics. With Tiggy and Loth joined to a unit (maybe big squad of LotD?) they could do some work.

Blood ravens would just be standard codex marines. although I imagine they'd benifit from some special chapter tactics. they's not all psykers they just have a LOT of them. the Ultramarines have somewhere close to 30 Libbys, I'd say the Ravens have 50, maybe 60. best way to reflect this would be to ALWAYS have at least one Libby in your force. and consider a double CAD with 1 Captain, Tiggy and 2 libs.

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

Cheers. I'm starting a new renegades army atm, but may, once I've completed it, aim for the above style army. That is unless GW release a new C:SM (or edition) in that time and completely invalidate that option.

I know, you're constantly filling with me IA:13-envy. I'd like to see a BatRep of your renegades once you get enough completed, so I can at least live vicariously.

Haha good idea. I'll keep you posted. I've moved recently so need to go to and try out my new local gaming club (apparently somewhere near sheffield station), as I can't rely on the 3 friends that I play against outside of my old club, for a start, we don't live close enough for regular games anymore. As it is, I haven't had a game since the release of the new BA dex (which is killing me inside).

Since they have a high amount of psykers, I would think doing an army of Grey Knights allied with Codex: Space Marines would kinda cover your bases. On the field, they would be just standard Space Marines.
