You can't expect the new movies to be "just like" the comics, that's a sure fire way to be dissapointed. You have to view them as a reboot, a fresh new take on an old classic. Besides, if everyione wore tights it would be extremely cheesy.

I'm glad they made the Avengers all disfunctional in the beginning, it highlighted how different they all are, different motives, different outlooks...Until it was time to go to work.

i started comic book reading with supes and batman... but after my first marvel i was stcuk with them... they are all around torn, abused and mentally fragile personalities...the lot of them... way more realistic then DC comic heros... all up front supes... (yeah i know they complicated him nowadays...but hey i am an eighties/ninties kinda comic geek...!)
